Interesting, got bored last week and applied for a Capital One progress card, was accepted instantly online even though I closed my Class Visa only back in Feb this year.

Rang up and was told even though accepted has gone to underwriting and will hear in 7-10 days if accepted?

Anyway, a pin number landed on my door mat yesterday for a capital one card, so I phoned them up and asked about the card and limit, I was told that it was a World Mastercard with £100 limit?

    Confused.com:doh:

    Hi

Did you apply for the world mastercard or one of there other products. I am considering giving it a go as I seem to be having a lucky streak, got a bank of scotland current account with a debit card (as opposed to electron) today, after the poor sales lady in the branch having to hold for half an hour as it got referred then they put her onto another dept that kept her on hold for 15 mins.

I was beginning to sweat a bit myself, but I guessed it all came down to flat positions in Glasgow which it did and that at my previous addresss (it was a tower block) there were lots of CIFAS markers so someone had to override them. The locals were trying to screw littlewoods catalogues.

I am with the Co-op but they only have on single branch in Scotland. I know we dont really go into the branch that much these days but it is easier when there are hundreds if not a few thousand of them instead of one. It seems they have removed all reference to Halifax and the lassie serving me seemed to think that LloydsTSB Scotland branches would be sold to Virgin or Tesco and I think she mentioned that their account would go with them. I thought people were being given a choice, but then again, if LTSB Scotland is to cease to exist what choice will they have.

Oh right, have to wait until card arrives.

From the Capital One World CC "things you should know":-

    A credit limit from £4,000
    £18 Annual Fee
3% cash handling fee (min £3.00)
    2.75% foreign currency conversion fee

    http://www.capitalone.co.uk/creditcards/world-mastercard.jsf

So your credit limit should be a minimum of £4,000:)
and of course this is a cashback card.

She must have made an error on the phone; I would not qualify for that type of facility.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

I'd give up my credit cards to get an FD account :p

    Hi

Main reason for not taking the account is today i had 3 cheques to pay in and if i had a 1st direct account i wouldnt manage that tho.

Am not sure about taking the 1st direct account i got another letter from them today.

    Hi All,

It's been a while since I posted in here, in fact the last time I did was when I had a monument card before they went belly up.

I know it sounds daft but for a laugh I decided to try for cap one, even though I've been turned down by them a couple of times in the past as I figured that thanks to a twit at the carphone warehouse searching every which way he could think of to get me a contract, it wouldn't hurt to do one more search on my file.

I've gotten a message though that I never got before:

    Congratulations, E
Your online application is now complete
We'll be sending you your card in the next 7 to 10 working days.
Your PIN number will be posted to you seperately.

    Your reference number
Your application reference number is 9963041625482710 (not actual number!) . Please quote this if you need to contact us before you receive your card.

We recommend you make a note of the number now, or print this page.

Does this mean that I finally got accepted? by a provider that had to stoop to spit on me before?

What do you think of this n-i-d?

It means that they have blocked you mate - you should call telepphone banking and ask why - UNLESS - is it a new account btw? If so you cannot apply for 6mths...

Do you actually have an o/d or not yet? From that screen shot I think it means you are a new customer without a behaviour score that never qualified for an o/d when you opened account and as such you must wait 6mth before applying..... Now tell me i'm wrong and ruin my theory lol :rotfl:

I'd love to be the bearer of bad new but unfortunately it is because i have only recently opened account.

I have been told that i can apply after 2months in branch with a credit check or 6 without.

Mate that marker will remain until 6mth - then you can reapply for one, do not listen to them - it is 6mth as a new customer as it is at that point you have built a behaviour score.....

Am glad I guessed right - lol... :D:D
