Anyone know any creative ways of withdrawing 1p from a Halifax account? Online banking keeps telling me 1p is an invalid amount.

I think the min payment transfer is £1.00 with the halifax.

They are refusing to close one of my savings accounts because it still has a balance of 1p despite me telling them I cannot transfer it because online banking won't allow me.

I went in to branch and asked to close it there and they couldn't do it and instead sent some form to head office requesting it be closed and the 1p transferred to one of my other accounts but apparently cannot happen because the account has a balance.

Could you not transfer 99p into the account then transfer the £1.00 back out to give it a nil balance.

Tried that and didn't work, online banking said the account must be in credit.

    I found a way!

I sent £1 from my HSBC to the b@stard Halifax account as a faster payment. I then set up a bill payment on the Halifax account and sent £1.01 back to HSBC, leaving the balance nil. :D

I done that th other day but hey - izools is da man remember!!

Your posts are spot on. Regardless of what an ifa says the lender does additional checks but hey - mr finger pointer extraudinaire (zools) blames them - yep, course they messed up and lent 50% extra than agreed in principle. Lol

The guys a bankrupt and you'd all do good to take his advice as how NOT to deal with finances. Look at him, already at 70% of available credit lol. Leopard, spots springs to mind!!

Oh no is this nasty? Tough lol

Ah that's weird then, maybe you've got to phone/go in branch to see how guaranteed it is? I'll just ignore that section I think, all seems rather pointless.

Have you applied for that credit card? What was the outcome?

Zack when Halifax offer pre approved loans and credit cards they appear in both the your offers and above your accounts.

The only difference between these and the standard product offers is they state that you are pre approved.
