They are handy & convenient but they are NOT better quality water:p
Actually, one reason I buy ice cubes is that they are made from mineral water. I buy bottles of mineral water for drinking too, although at the cheapest I can find, and have done for years.
The reason is that when I drink tap water I invariably get a bad stomach, unless I boil it first. Of course I could boil water and cool it down and use that for drinking water and making ice cubes. I have no idea what is in tap water that affects me like this, but after a few bad experiences, I'm happy to budget for the cost.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

I have a US fridge/freezer, it makes them out of filtered water:D0 -
i do if im having lots of people round, so much easier than having loads of trays freezing for days before hand as i always forget to refill them myself
only buy them too if havinf a party etc as never have time to make that many. i once also bought to put in a cool box when i went to a festival gave an extra few hours chillness to the food and booze i had taken :-))

As far as I can tell there is only one brand that makes them from mineral water, all others use tap water.I never knew that:o
Don't get exited, you pay 50% more for mineral water ice cubes than you do tap water ones. And you pay 50p per litre for the tap water ones!I have a US fridge/freezer, it makes them out of filtered water:D
I expect it will make them out of mineral water if too, if that's what you put in it.
Filtered mineral water ice cubes eh! That would be good when your snooty neighbours says "I only use mineral water ice cubes, are your ice cubes made of mineral water"?
And you reply
"Mineral water ice cube, we only use filtered mineral water ice cubes in this house dear".0 -
I have a domestic ice machine that I bought from Argos for £100 because we use A LOT of ice in our house.
Depending on the weather, I run the machine once a month and keep the ice in a big tub in the bottom of the fridge-freezer. It's been going strong for well over 2yrs and is so handy I wouldn't be without one now.0 -

Maybe not all brands of ice cubes are made from mineral water, I don't know, but certainly the ones I buy are.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
I got some DIY ones the other day from Sainsburys.
10 bags that you stick under the tap, self sealing, bang them in the freezer and they are done..
They are 25p for 10 bags.9/70lbs to lose0 -
we live in an extremely hard water area...... have to have a water filter for even drinking water or making tea! always have a 6 pack of evian on standby!!... so yes, my ice cubes are always from filtered or mineral water..I use lots of the ice cube bags..and always have lots in supply...nothing snobbish ...just having to do it that way..but if I was having a party, and was low on them, I would buy some!!0

I bought a few bags for the first time recently, we were having a bbq and what started out as 6 friends coming round we ended up with over 40 people so I nipped out to get a few bags from Asda to chuck in the beer bin to keep the cans and bottles cold. For the sake of a quid a bag i'll buy them again to save filling the freezer with ice cube bags and trays. If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

We buy them when we go to our caravan. The bag from tesco Express just fits nicely into the small freezer compartment in the larder fridge. And you then have ready made ice from when you have been to the shop once you have arrived there, instead of waiting hours for water to freeze in trays.
