If you're connecting to a PC, all you need is a TV tuner in the PC.
The best one I think is made by Nebula Electronics, cheaper ones by WinTV, and generic USB freeview tuners can be had for around £20 or so. Google wintv, and you'll find what you're after.
That's a really cheap way of getting a 19" tv in the bedroom, with the advantage of playing dvds, internet too is you've a router.::Quidco.com - £1100 in 11 months. Kerr-ching! ::0 -
Also, for people who's displays don't support 1400x900 or whatever it is, Powerstrip is an excellent utility which adds customs resolututions to your gfx card's defaults.

I ordered 3pm today and have had email saying its being dispatched 5th september. I may finaly get a bargain. Was realy an impulse buy as I dont have plans to ugrade my PC for several months. Plane now to get a Mac Mini with Digital TV Adapter. Sorry if I sound smug but having missed nearly every decent offer in 12 months I am happy.Ta0

Having seen this thread, I have now placed an order. Only downside to this is that I'm quoted a delivery date between 14th to 23rd September. One never know it may even be delivered earlier!
I suppose at that price one's lucky to get it delivered in the first place from reading the posts that many of these TFt have been ordered. Furthermore, it may be prudent to get it delivered to somewhere you know that it's going to be signed for by someone you know rather to have it returned back to depot for another scheduled delivery timeslot? My other half will be there to sign for it so that I don't miss this bargain to use!Better in my pocket than theirs!0 -

Does that normally mean that you wont get it?
Are they likely to deliver in 2-3 weeks or are they likely to 'pull' the order?
Does anyone know? Is it still worth ordering it?"Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
Having been a long time 'lurker' of MSE thought it high time to join.
I ordered this yesterday as quite frankly this is too good to refuse. It's arriving on Tuesday to my work.
So thanks to the OP.

Just a tip for anyone buying this screen or any other TFT panel and running Windows XP
You can greatly improve the clarity & readability of text using the built-in free Microsoft CLEARTYPE technology which far too many people are blissfully unaware of.
Just visit this Microsoft page to learn about it:
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/WhatIsClearType.mspx
Or just jump straight to setting it up and trying it out on your PC:
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/tuner/Step1.aspx
Takes just a moment to do.
AND if you have an APERTURE GRILLE conventional monitor (eg Sony Trinitron, Mitsubishi Diamondtron tube technology) you can get the benefit on that too. I've an old iiyama Vision Master 19" CRT with a Diamondtron in it and recently had to set up my PC afresh after a catastrophic hard-disk failure. Took me nearly a month to remember about ClearType and had been wondering on and off why it didn't look as good anymore!
NB: While this works with all TFT LCD panels, this only works on the MINORITY of conventional monitors that have an APERTURE GRILLE - ie the historically more expensive/select Trinitrons etc.

If they pull the order for whatever reason they won't charge you / will refund you. You won't lose anything - except the bargain of course!
But if you don't order, the price is likely to go up* - it tends to do at Amazon sometimes when sales of a 'good' item are flying - & it may not be a bargain any more.
Or, if they run out of stock, Marketplace sellers arrive for the kill offering the same at an exhorbitant price - take this for instance (of another TFT I'd been tracking in my Wish List):
The only downside I can see is that delivery may be delayed.
So don't lose another second & make that order NOW!!!
Mine is arriving on Tuesday as well via Express delivery (I thought I'd spoil myself this once), with a 24-pin DVD-D dual link cable for under £5 the same day from eBay

I heard that it can do wonders for a TFT though, so people take note - it's definitely worth a go on both monitor types! G0 -
Mine's been dispatched today via Parcelforce (oh god, had problems with them a few weeks back when they missed 2 deliveries because they couldn't find my house).
and my Dabs cable has been dispatched as well so looking forward to a pile of goodies on Tuesday.
