Anyone know the difference between the first two items, one seems to have more pins than the other but from what I can work out they do the same thing and are what is needed for this monitor? (IF you want DVI that is)

DVI connection specs can be found at:
    http://www.ddwg.org/dviinfo.asp

And a diagram that shows all the variants
    http://www.mycableshop.ca/300x300/DVI_Chard.jpg

This includes that a DVI-D single link can cope with "1920x1080 at 60 Hz" which is more than this monitor.

Though the monitor's manual says: "24-pin DVI cable (Dual input mode optional)" which kinda implies that single input mode is okay, though Dual Link cabling would appear to be preferable.

    PS:
See Simate's posting #36 below - he got a single with his and reports it working just fine.

    2MTR DVI-D M - DVI-D M CABLE

Is this the right one Jimbo333. Worth checking I've not got it wrong. £4.82 + delivery (£8.04 delivered) at Ebuyer. Won't the monitor come with a DVI cable?.

The picture shows only a single-link cable. And no the monitor does NOT come with a DVI cable per the spec PDF on the European website. Can pick up DVI-D Dual-link from eBay from c£5+

Yes at first it looks like a WOW item but be warned it is not as good as it seems. Put simply a 17 or 19 " square tft displays more pixels than this screen does. So even though it does look like an amazing bargain for about £90ish on dabs you can get a 17" square tft which can display more.

Is this right (no offense, 400uk! :))?
    Bit behind on me monitors...!

The giveaway is in the name of the monitor ie WIDE so while it's a 19" monitor as it's WIDE you are getting a bit less screen turf however based on typical pixels at 19" it's only a 1% or so reduction.

It's designed to give you a WIDE format view similar to a WIDEscreen TV and hence be far more suited to watching DVDs on your PC and/or working on WIDE spreadsheets etc - oh and it's not my scene but I understand ONLINE GAMERS go for the WIDEscreen view on their fantasy/fantastic worlds.

    This is : 1440x 900 = 1296000 pixels @ 1.55:1 ie closer to 16:9 widescreen (actual 16:10)

    versus say a typical 19" monitor/panel at: 1280x1024 = 1310720 pixels ie 1.1% more at 1.25:1 ie closer to 4:3 TV

Is this any good for regular gaming (non-online)? Or, are widescreens not really recommended? G

    Games played are:
    F.E.A.R.
    Deus Ex
    Far Cry
    Unreal Tournament 2004
    Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Edit: Apparently games play well on this - see user reviews at TigerDirect, & this post by Poppycat.

I have one of these. I bought it just last Friday from Dabs for £141 with a DVi cable delivered (as did a friend of mine), so a bit gutted at the £105 price, never mind eh.
It's a great screen, ignore the 'it's not as good as a square monitor' comment, I have both and this screen is superb, the colours, brightness and responce are all top notch through the DVi connection (DVi is a must to get the best out of this screen).
Don't think about it, just buy one, you will not be dissapointed!
