as fortune would have it I got a reply from HannsG support just now suggesting mine sounds faulty - 3 days after I returned it....
Oh dear! Looks like your faulty purchase is on it's way to my house, lol0 -
mine been sent today...Never pay more than you have too0

i'd also ordered one at the start of september, then asked them 2 days ago if they'd had new stock from the vendor yet, and said i was unhappy at not being kept informed.
got emails the same day saying 1-2 week delay, then in stock and despatched.
received today, last day of original delivery estimate, just setup, and quite happy.
one constant-on pixel left-of-centre but i'm not bothered as only see on black screen. i don't think this comes under Hanns-g replacement terms as it's only one pixel, but of course Amazon's return policy is very good, ie. any reason at all.0 -
The dead pixel may be repairable. Make sure to follow instructions carefully & not to overdo it or apply too much pressure. Not too sure whether Amazon would exchange it, or whether I can be bothered to go through the hassle of arranging an exchange when it's just the one pixel - it's permanently green. It's barely noticeable at all when the windows is up and running, it's as clear as day during boot up though. Even with the stuck pixel I can't complain at £105 delivered.GoofyGAT wrote:Fogg1969, you could try 'repairing' the dead pixel using one/more of these methods. Good luck

mine arrived yesturday, seems a very nice monitor. Its smaller height wise than my 17" tft but definatly a lot bigger widthways.0

Oh dear. I wish I had stuck with my Dell CRT monitor. OK, I've gained space but I lost on picure quality and I don't like the widescreen. Ah well, I will just have to live with it.0

Why not run them together?Norman-B wrote:Oh dear. I wish I had stuck with my Dell CRT monitor. OK, I've gained space but I lost on picure quality and I don't like the widescreen. Ah well, I will just have to live with it.
Having said that I sent the Hanns G back.0 -
To be honest, you will lose picture quality on ANY tft monitor. I noticed it when I first got a TFT a couple years ago but you just get used to it after a while.
I also was a bit dodgy about the widescreen when it turned up but after a few hours use i quite like it now. Great monitor for the price.0 -
Hey all

First post. @Sui-Generis and Someguy that sucks that you're having probs.
I just ordered one today from Dab £124.98 (just couldn't resist it).. I bought a 19" crt 4 years ago for £109 and it's STILL that price. I wanted to upgrade my monitor to get the most out of my new X1900XT and going by 99.9% of all the reviews that I have read.. I not going to be disappointed.
@ GoofyGAT... cheers for the photos dude it's nice to see it up and running
Might get another if I really like it.
(I hope I actually get it.. sometimes my creditcard doesn't validate online!)0 -
Good luck!Carnifx wrote:I just ordered one today from Dab £124.98 (just couldn't resist it)..0
