So thats the next target then? Would £100 per month be OK, or do you just want to leave that to take care of itself? being mortgage free would really help the move to the country!

That degree sounds awesome, I did sociology and there was a job going for a criminologist when we were all being made redundant years ago - sounding really interesting if gruesome.

I think that once debt-freeness arrives I'm going to concentrate on building up my savings as when I repay the loan my savings account will be emptied. At the moment, that money is set aside for the loan but is there to call upon if anything in the house goes boom.

As I'm thinking about OU as well, I don't think I'm quite ready to do a mortgage-free challenge, although building up saving would help with a deposit if we move. My mortgage is at base rate anyway (Woo!) so there's little to be gained by putting any savings I build up into the mortgage. I would like to put a little bit in each month as an overpayment though, I'm going to think about it more once everything else is cleared.

    Morning folks,

Once again, Virgin Media are useless and we were without internet yesterday :(

I woke up and noticed it was working again so thought I would post quickly - this happened last time we lost net access and it had stopped working by 8am so strike/post while the iron is hot I say!

    Spends yesterday

    £1.90 - tea and scone
    £2.95 - lunch with a friend
£5.00 - leaving collection for colleague (Someone I liked who was worth £5!!)
£1.80 - diet cola in pub with a friend
£7.29 in Morrisons (I forgot that the meal plan said fish for dinner, and had fish for lunch, so had to run to Morrisons and get food. Full details are below)

    Cat treats - £1.37
    Milk - 90p
    Stir fry - £1
    Low fat quiche - [strike]£1.25[/strike] 19p
    Chewing gum - 68p
Jam danish for Mr Fresian - [strike]£1.39[/strike] 59p
    Tasty rolls - [strike]65p[/strike] 35p
Frying steak - £2.21 (I had one of the steaks sliced up with stir fried veg, Mr Fresian went for a chuffing great sandwich :D) Felt quite proud as in the meat aisle they had these for £4, and I had been thinking about buying the three for £10 deal, as it's bad moneysense to get one item of meat for £4, then went to the butchers counter and found nicer looking frying steak for much cheapness :T

    Money

    PAD/Spends - £274
    Groceries - £95.61
    Purse - £7.29
    Outstanding loan - £974.54

    Plans for the weekend are:

    1. Costco trip for cat litter and some meat for the freezer. Need to be very careful in terms of spending though as there are 19 days until payday and less than £100 left in the groceries budget
    2. Go to Boots and see if they have any swimming costumes left in their summer sale. I need one and don't want to pay a lot of money for it either! If anyone can suggest anywhere else that might have a good selection for not a lot of cash I would appreciate it. I will be quickly checking mobile internet in the morning before I go out at about 11am
    3. My brother is visiting tomorrow as well. This throws the mealplan into disarray. I suspect that I will feed him and Mr Fresian burgers and have something healthy as he's a very fussy eater. He was scared when I floated the idea of chilli to him!

Right, I'm off to bed. If the internet fails me again, have a good weekend :D At least I'm away with work for most of next week in a hotel with free wireless!!

I'd been on since 4am (Sorting out my farm on Facebook :o)

Luckily it seems to be working, but if not they shall feel my wrath. The only way I managed to get through to them last night was via their 0845 number. Grr...
  • I've got some spends to declare...

But will do it later after another trip to Tesco :(
    Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Thirtyish pounds spent in Costco on cat litter, mince and burgers. Will keep us in meaty treats for a while though. I also bought a new swimming costume today but it was reduced to two pounds in the Boots sale and I paid with points!:A

Internet broken again, so won't post until I can use free internet in the hotel I'm staying in on Monday.

Angelic, do you still have my mobile number? Can you please PM moo2moo and ask her to text me her email address and I will email her from work on Monday as we're meant to be meeting for lunch next week and I have no internet to arrange!

    Thanks and goodnight!

P.S. only sixty four pounds left in food budget and many days till payday. Eek!
