I don't think petrol / BOGOF / Public transport is the same as a baby..

If you read the OP, she was planning on another child anyway. Why delay something for a short while if that delay costs nearly £700. Is it equaly shocking to you that people fill their cars with petrol the day before a budget, or make use of BOGOF offers, or use public transport at off peak times?

Good point , cant argue with the logic

Yes. Can't remember when it completely stops though.

Why would it cost almost £700? A baby doesn't "need" £500 worth of equipment.

It's the same principle, just smaller individual financial losses.

Well the HIP grant claimable at 25 weeks goes in JAN 11 so you won't get that unless you have fallen right now.

What a ludacrous waste of money too.

SS from 1st baby only APR 11 so again it's claimable from 29 weeks chances are you'll miss it.

The SS one is now only for the first child as well so as the OP already has a child she wouldnt qualify for it now anyway.

Yeah I know that's why I said first baby, if she was 29 weeks BEFORE April though she'd still get it if eligible.

I thought it was changing to first child only from April 2011
