    Its not fair is it?

So because it was your name on the account and not your husband's, they therefore would not pay out because you were still classed as working and over 16 hours per week?

Nanna, if you don't mind me asking, but are you still working and for over 16 hours per week?

yes i am working 20 hrs per week oh is unemployed. When i spoke to lwoods about reduced payments i was advised to try to claim even as oh is unemployed. The amount of hours worked surly is irrelevent.if circumstances change they change and i dont want topay for something useless

Nanna, its up to you, you could send to both the insurer and littlewoods if you want to, I know its a pain but photocopy the questionnaire you have completed, this way you have covered both ends if you know what I mean.;)

I know its a pain, but just in case they try fobbing off.:)

Di could you take a look please

i have printed off the questioaire you advised but only the answers are visible so having afew probs with but intend to send anyway.

today addressed to my OH came a letter from Sterling ins co as follows (cant upload ) so here goes

    Dear Mr xxxx

Thank you for your correspondence.(i rang them)

We understand that Mrs xxxx is the account holder of the littlewoods Catalogue,
Under the terms and conditions of the policy, coveronly applies to the spouse or partner of the account holder

should the account holder not be in work.

I note from the information i have received that Mrs xxxxwas in work working over 16hrs per week at the date you were made redundant.therefore i am unable to consider a claim any further on this occasion.

I am sorry that this claim cant be paid. You will need to speak to your catalouge if you have difficulties paying them.

If anything i have said in this letter is unclear, or if you have new or different information that you tink i should see please do call the claims dept on xxxxxxxx

    yours sincerely

Actually yes i do have a prob i need my money back :mad:
Hi there, i will put my two penneth here now, (not having a go just going by what has been posted)do as you have been advised by di and dec22. When you took your ppi with littlewoods was the cover for you or your spouse, or joint?.I am asking because if either of you were covered and they have not paid out on hubby then this is clearly mis sell. Have you got the original document for this ppi?.This is mad as that would make all ppi mis sold if you cant claim because your other half is working!! this just does not make sense to me.But this is an old policy and times have changed. But if i were you i would look more into this.Could it be that as you are the account holder you have to claim for the redundancy for yourself?,usually the life is only covered on both parties, and redundancy etc just for the main account holder. i am only going by the letter you recieved rejecting your claim, if that is the case then they are correct in refusing. But you should go for mis sell, send the letter to littlewoods and the insurance with your reasons for mis sell, then post back on here and you will be told the next step (unless of course the reply is in your favour, ever the optimist me ) good luck with this xx

This is the cover at present for littlewoods
    http://www.littlewoods.com/financialservices/en/shoppingInsuranceTP01.page
look at policy summary, the redundancy for spouse/partner is only if the main account holder is not working and is financially dependent on spouse/partner.If i were you, go for mis sell dont use the partner /spouse redundancy as a reason as you are not eligable.hOPE THIS HELPS

nd thanx for your "2 penneth" i really am in th dark on this.I took out tha catalouge approx10yrs ago
filled in the general paperwork as everyone gets.So i am assuming the cover was for me assum again as they usually state "we highly reccomend".But as i say i got behind with payments and rang l woods to try to sort reduced payments for now. chap on the other end mentioned ins and said that as oh is now unemployed i could possably have a clain ,so thats what i did.to be honest until then i hadnt given it a thought (oldy creeping in)any comments greatly appreciated
