I would have thought that if they substituted the same(lowest) price would apply? Is it wisest to or no to request substitutes with your delivery?
They do price match, ie: tesco veg lasagne £5 replaced with beef lasagne £7.50. However it busts the meal deal glitch.
You really need to say no substitutes
The 25% off is good, but it is probably still more than worth accepting any complete meal deals, but be warned that they may notice the 2 x main courses.
My advice if it is wrong send the lot back, you are allowed to do it, but they may not refund delivery.0 -
Boo boo boo!!! Is it just my local Tesco or am I missing the whole point? No wine included in our £9 deal - only juice. I asked a sa and she said that they don't always include wine -there was no meal deal wine where it usually is at the end of the wine aisle and the sign for the meal deal stated juice.
However, when I look online I can get wine with the deal! Strange!0 -
Ordered
5 x £9.99 white wine
1 x £9.99 red wine
4 x Steak Au Poivre
1 x Steak Pie
2 x Chicken Breast
1 x Fish Pie
2 x Kiev
2 x Pizza
4 x Chocolate & Caramel Tart
2 x Toffee and Pecan Puddings
Total showing on website as:
£54.00 + £5.50 delivery
minus £10 ecoupon = £49.50
49.50 - £14.99 wine discount to be taken off on delivery = £34.51
Minus £10 topcashback first time buying groceries cashback = £24.51
In total, £130.87 worth of food and drink for £24.51 - hope it goes smoothly when it gets delivered tomorrow!0 -
In my order, the lasagne was subbed with the fish pie! Which was fine, as still in the meal deal, I would have been soooo dissapointed if they had replaced it with something not in the meal deal!0

I've put a note next to each item on the substitution list. I put that if anything needs substituting then can it be changed for something else in the offer. Hopefully they will take heed!0

Been on phone to tesco for ages, not budging or collecting! I give up,. but my goodness I am I going to get even with glitches in the future. Can't focus on the £120 or I'll flip, so going for the aproach of knowing I'll get every tesco glitch in the future from them. It was only way really as the manager was looking at the order closely and it would have potentially not only busted this 2 x mains glitch, but future ones too! Also had it running through my mind that they may ban my address etc!
If a driver in your area turns up without the invoice, just send back for goodness sake, don't take their word for it!
Are you sure that £120 has been taken out and not just earmarked? The actual amount may not come out til tomorrow.
I feel so bad for you otherwise as this seems to have worked for everyone else.
Are you sure that nothing was substituted? Even if the meal deal didnt work for whatever reason you should still get 25% off your 6 bottles of wine cos its on all wine.0 -
My 4 steak pies (£9.98)were substituted for two individual ordinary steak pies at £2.94, meaning I was charged an extra £13 or something on my shopping. It took me a while to work out what to do. I sent back the two pies and the dessert, and kept the wine for the £14.99 discount. So it did work out a bit more expensive than it should have done.
Surely, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to substitute with something relevant to the offer? I'd ordered chicken kievs and steak au poivre too. Why didn't they just substitute for those, instead of for inferior (and ultimately a lot more expensive) steak pies, which weren't even of a similar size - there was less than half the amount of product there!
Unfortunately, I can't ring up, because I ordered 12 mains.0 -
I'm not trying to be critical or judgemental but I think it is probably not the best plan to order 6 of these 'glitch deals' for home delivery! The pickers instore are surely going to notice that they are picking a lot of main courses even though they can presumably see very clearly on the SELs that this isn't the right Deal. Also, when things are subbed. with non-deal items and the glitch doesn't work, its very dicey phoning up about it!
I know that not everyone is able, for various reasons, to actually go to the store themselves but picking the stuff out yourself really is the only way to be sure of what you are getting/paying. And, personally, I wouldn't chance putting multiple meal deals inc. the 25% wine discount through a normal till. I don't mind chancing 1 meal deal with a bit of 'padding' through one of the part time evening staff but anything over that goes through the self scan so nobody has a chance to see exactly whats going through.
Its really not worth the risk of trying to get an extra discount through Quidco or other cash back sites by ordering online - the Deal is so good as it is that its daft to risk it.
But thats just my opinion and I don't expect everyone to agree with me!ELITE 5:2
