Hi I'm trying to use up all my tins in the cupboard and have come across a load of tins of baked beans, obviously bought when on special offer.
Any ideas what to do with them?
    Thanks in advance

    • On toast
    • With homemade chips and egg
    • On a jacket potato with cheese
    • Add chopped peppers, onion, chilli powder and kidney beans to make 'mexican' beans, serve in wraps on on top of tortilla chips with cheese melted on top
    • Add to shephards pie
    • Layer with mashed potato and top with cheese and bake in the oven
    • Use as a sauce for pasta with cheese and cream cheese melted in
    • Full english breakfast
I never run out of ideas to use a can of beans! So cheap and tasty yum yum yum

Sausage and baked bean casserole - chunks of onion, potato and sausage and a tin of beans, all cooked slowly together. It's something my dad used to make when I was a kid, and is still my absolute favourite comfort food. :)

I gather you can also use baked beans in chilli rather than the usual kidney beans, but I've yet to try that one myself.
Back after a very long break!
  • I add beans to chilli all the time as my boys dont like the kidney beans! It works lovely as they seem to thicken it slightly!

Okay, in need of help, had a look at the links but can't see to find what I am looking for.

As I am cutting back I need to use up whats in my flat before buying more stuff.

I went a bit mad stocking up on things for winter and then not using them, hence I have a large amount of baked beans sitting in the cupboard.

I am looking for recipes / ideas to use these up, anyone any ideas / links?

(I only have one idea so far - beans on toast lol!)

    Thanks in Advance :D:D:D

i put baked beans in my chilli cause my hubby hates all other beans, personally i can't tell the diference, once ages ago i saw a recipe for a sausage and bean pie, which was just fried chopped sausages, onions, carrots, and beans topped with mash, also you can make cowboy pie which i think is in the recipe index

    Hi Hellomoto,

I'm not mad about baked beans but I do sometimes add them to sausage casserole and my children love them on toast with cheese. This thread has lots of ideas for using them up
