Add some curry powder to the beans, hey presto baked beans curry, you could even push the boat out and add a tin of meatballs!:D0

I've put Marmite in them before to give them a bit of a kick
Two quickie recipes that are nice and cheap, and not too unhealthy -
Brown off some mince, add a tin of beans and a little gravy, cook through and serve with boiled potatoes - or you can cook the potatoes in with everything else to make a kind of hash (uses only one hob and pan then too)
And one that is popular with the kids - empty 2 tins of beans (or one beans and beans & sausage) into a casserole dish (3 pint one is about right, although you can just squeeze it into a 2 pint one), cover with mashed potato and grated cheese, and cook in the oven at about 190 for 15 minutes (ours is an old oven so you may not need as long/as hot).DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

:rotfl: I imagine its just a mispell? Should be Swede
I LOVE beans
My Nan put a tin of beans in all of her casseroles & stews & cottage pies. I should blame her then for my love of beans!
I'm looking forward to more bean recipes although you can't beat good old beans on toast. A bit of grated cheese if its a special occasion :rotfl:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
I like topping beans on toast with worcester sauce, cheese and garlic chives.:D
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
beans in spag boll of sheperds pie is a good way of filling the meal out so you dont have to use as much mince and it's still fills you up.

beans on toast mmmmmmm but i have to say for me they usually have to be heinz and i cook em till the sauce thickens up a lot so when you put em on your (wholemeal) toast they it won't go all soggy. also nice with a scrambled egg. my daughter loves this
It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

I've found that a knob of butter and some black pepper in baked beans is really tasty.0
