the humble tin of baked beans..

I've been converted recently to eating baked beans with pasta!! When I first met my boyf and I saw that's what his family did I thought they were really weird!! They ate macaroni cheese with beans too! But I love it now!!

My curried beans recipe is

1 tsp curry powder - whichever strength floats your boat
handful of sultanas
1 apple (diced)
splash of L&P

Apple gives them a nice 'chip shop' style flavour

Cook off a onion and add 1 tin of beans and half a tin of corned beef. Eat with toast and brown sauce. Yummy.

Sainsbury's had all their Heinz Spicy Baked Beans half price today, 27p.

Mexican beans, Thai beans and Curried beans. (Not sure what I would have done with Thai beans) :eek:

my kids love

cowboy casserole

baked beans
cooked sausages cut into pieces
bacon ,grilled and cut into pieces
cubes of potato

put all in a dish,cook in oven ,serve with bread

nice with some worcester sauce or marmite stirred through too

We had an economy month ,attempt to save ,pay some bills with surplus cash and lose weight,baked beans ,bread ,potatoes.,eggs ,it was fun ,never hungry ,lost weight ,I believe that it was healthy .

We've always eaten macaroni cheese with baked beans - it's yummy comfort food!!!!!!:D

GF mashes up tin of beans adds some grated cheese and uses that to stuff tortillas or pancakes. pours over some watered down tomato puree and sprinkles over some more grated cheese then chucks it in oven until it looks ready,it's yum and friends who have had it can't believe its JUST beans, sometimes put's chopped mushrooms & mixed herbs in it for a change. Chips and beans are one of my favourite meals.
