I'm a snob, I look down my nose at those unwilling to work *sniff*
You're Welsh. That's an awful lot of sniffing.;)All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -

Get outta here, we can all spot a blagger when we see one. Come on, you haven't worked since they shut down pits. Even the one call centre in Merthyr Tydfil has a waiting list with about 5000 applicants on it.;)All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -

Lol, I guess that crouching down them pits for years plays havoc with the spine.
I take it you were either a little person who wasn't affected by crouching, or you were the canary (what with your enormous sniffing habit) they used to test for gas?All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -
Just one question if OP has got to go out to work on a night shift, when does he get to sleep? That would be really sensible having to look after his child/ children when half asleep, during the daytime, because he has been working all night. Nobody would say anything about getting out to work if the OP was the wife, not the husband. I really hope you get something sorted out. It won't help you much right now but you obviously need to ensure that Tax Credits are aware it was only a one-off payment. As for now I think the only option you really have is to see if you can get your wife to do some extra hours at work. I totally agree by the way spaceman1, it is a lot harder being at home looking after a house and children than being out to work. 0 -

Gosh no, I'm not little nor do I need a canary to work with.
There's loads of gas on these boards, perhaps you'd like me to buy you a canary for your own hot air?

Hot air, moi?
Not me pretending to be Welsh and wealthy (an oxymoron perhaps;))
Let's be honest here, you're no landed gentry. Just an old moaner with internet access, and a nice pension. Who continually attempts to mask his own insecurities about money, by continually harking on to people who don't care, about his supposed wealth.
I guess, there is at least one thing money can't buy: Class. All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -
