Can you get a job around your wife's hours? Suppose she does her 30 hours during the day time, you could get an evening or weekend job.
Here I go again on my own....

Sorry, I don't have kids so don't really understand, but how does her earning more money mean that you have less overall???

So your income last year was an unexpected £8K more than normal. Did you not realise at the time that this would have an effect on your means tested benefits - after all, these are based on your income.

While the income was an additional £8K, did you lose more than £8K in benefits? I can't see where you are worse off?

Wont get a childminder as tobe truthful i find it hard to trust peeps with my kids.
Not too sure how it works but seems to me no incentive to better our selfs if in the long run you get a kick in the teeth for it.
She wont be able to earn that much again.

What about working nights or would you rather your wife works full time while you stay at home?

You'll be trusting the school with your kids. Why not an experienced and qualified childcare provider?
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

So is it just for last year that she earned that?

Was it a one off bonus payment or a big pay rise for the year?
