've just looked through all the other threads but can't find what I'm looking for....has anyone got a recipe for something like the Eat Natural date & walnut bars? They're gorgeous, but I begrudge paying over £2 for 3 of them!
I guess I could easily make them from the limited ingredients....has anyone else tried making some?0 -

I have quite a lot of oats at home along with almonds, brazils, sunflower seeds etc. I do make my own breakfast cearal, but wondered if anyone had a recipe for a good flapjack, my OH wants some in his packed lunch and I don't want to buy it from mr T.
Thank you
Hiya,
I've just added your query onto the main thread on cereal bars which PP linked to a short while ago.
You'll need to read from the beginning to catch up.

I am looking to make my own healthy bars to have for breakfast or to take to work for a lunchtime snack.
Can anyone help with recipes?

I've got this recipe, I think it came from on here somewhere
Low Fat Cereal Bars
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup Rice Krispies
2/3 cup chopped apricots
3 tbsp roasted sunflower seeds (I don't bother toasting them)
1/4 cup toasted coconut (I don't toast it)
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp oil
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1. Melt oil, honey, peanut butter in microwave just until easy to mix up, watch carefuly, probably 20 seconds or so.
2. Mix in vanilla.
3. Mix all ingredients together and press down well into 8" square tin.
4. Bake at 350F/180C/gas4 for 20 minutes.0 -
Hi davetaylor,
There are lots of recipes for cereal bars on this older thread that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep all the replies together.
