can we get rid of this facebook gimmick please, it is becoming a pain in the arris.0

Every thread I have tried to look at so far today is doing this.
It's been going on for ages now with lots of posts/threads I have seen about it. And it's flippin annoying. I have a speedy internet connection because I want things fast!0 -

The same can be done with Adblock Plus.
We really shouldn't have to be messing around blocking external sites/scripts to make this one work properly though.
Can we just get rid of this please?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have firefox - if I were to block the script does that mean I would be blocking facebook completely?? Or just the linked bits?? (Cos I want to use FB!)0

If you were very precise and selective in your filter rules, then you could probably block the annoying things on here while still allowing you full use of the main facebook site.
For example I think one of the nuisance scripts on here is:
http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect.php/js/FB.Share
If whatever filter you set up blocks just that, then the rest of FB would be OK I think?
But you would have to be careful. Other parts of the FB site are hosted on the same domain,
http://static.ak.fbcdn.net
Blocking anything hosted on that domain would probably mess up your use of FB in a serious way.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

This facebook thing is still causing threads to stall when opening
I dont have fb, I dont want it and I dont want it to affect my enjoyment of this site.
Earlier this week, someone complained that the spam button was missing from a thread and it was installed within a couple of hours yet this fb issue goes unresolved.0 -
We hope to have this situation resolved today.
