This seems to really be slowing down the loading of threads.
The first post opens, then I'm waiting for about 10-15 seconds for this to load so I can see the rest of the thread. :undecided

Same here ....Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

That's been happening for me too as I've been forced into a slower connection. It's annoying ... along with the fact that the content moves about while it's downloading as those slots weren't pre-defined for height/width and arrive after the content so need to budge the post words out of the way to fit in.
And I HATE HATE HATE Facebook, which makes it more than treble the annoyance. Here's a fact: I am NOT going to 'share' a post or thread through twitter or facebook ... or any other fad or fancy.0 -
I'm lost. What's facebook sharing got to do with MSE? I should've imagined it would be a facebook techi issue and not MSE's0

they've stuck that 'share on facebook' ap thing in that thread stats box that takes over every opening post now."And suddenly I find myself listening to a man I've never known before,Telling me about the sea..."0 -
You mean that little stats box is slowing down threads? It hasn't affected the site performance for me at all, although I'm not so keen about it being so imposing; it spoils the post format specially when we post images. However the links to social network sites can be useful and I think sharing is the trend. May be if the box is smaller, minus those views and wow factor statistics, it would look chic and probably won't have techi complaints.0

It's doing it to me too. There is nothing wrong with sharing content but if the share method doesn't allow the content to load and there isn't a time out built in to skip it if it doesn't then it is hopeless. It makes the site unusable. It is almost as annoying as finding your page won't load because you're waiting for some ruddy ad-server!0

I'm confused. The Thread Stats box for me contains 3 parts:
Number of views (currently 126)
WW Factor, which always says "Coming soon"
Bird icon, for tweeter
Where is the facebook thing supposed to be?0 -
F Share......0

aha - I've got Firefox with the Noscript add-on installed, and with fbcdn.net not permitted (by default) the Facebook option doesn't appear.0
