I came into the Feedback forum to start a thread about this - it's driving me completely bonkers today. I don't see as it's necessary to have those Facebook & Twitter links in the Stats box, not when they are available as Bookmarks at the bottom of each thread. And now it's slowing my use of MSE, it's really annoying.

It is VERY bad today - adding an extra five seconds to each page load for me.

Needs sorting ASAP. No point having a shiny fast server if a 3rd party is causing slow page loads.

This was first reported six weeks ago - nice of the staff to comment.
  • i have a very easy solution
all what you have to do is to go to tools>privacy
    >remove individual cookies> and type facebook
and scroll down a little and a list of
cookies will appear with the name of facebook
    remove them and enjoy

this also works with yieldmanger or other sites that slows down you browsing speed
and you can daily move these
cookies to keep your browsing fast
and its very easy to know what sites are these
    for
instance if you pressed the link to a site and noteced a watining for yieldmanger, api.facebook ...etc on your left hand insted of the waiting for (site name)
then search and remove these cookies
    hope i helped

    Probably because Facebook is down.

This page took about 30 seconds to load.

Maybe some coding is required to stop trying to load the Facebook content if it hasn't done it within three seconds.
