swap avg and adaware for avast.
Turn off media sharing in media player, and disable the wmpnetwk (media player network sharing) service in services.msc!!

Aw this starts to make sense, I tried to connect my laptop to my xbox 360, I ended process tree and it went down to 1% usage. It keeps restarting though so I will follow the steps suggested.0

It almost certainly is : windows media player network sharing service, but there are other problems, disable the ' media player network sharing service ' and let us know what the CPU % is doing.
