Im not being aggressive im just trying to give out the correct information, it has been impossible to prove that car seats do damage the spines, there is a theory but not a solid fact unlike the oxygen desaturation.

This link makes a very good read

There is certainly no official "time limit" and the sad thing is that the people who tell you this often do not really know why the unofficial time limit exists! The most common reason given is that infant carrier’s damage baby’s spines. We are sympathetic to this argument; we too believe a baby’s spine should be fully supported by using a carry cot. We understand a number of physiotherapists have also voiced their concerns regarding infant carriers but finding medical evidence to prove that infant carriers damage babies spines has, so far, proven impossible. If you know better than us please let us know!

SSorry Lauren but you realise that site is owned and operated by a company who has a vested interest in car seats? There was articals in the Lancet in late 2007 or early 2008 regarding a link to the use of bucket type car seats and lower back problems in young adults.

I've got a Bugaboo Cameleon and love it.

The carry cot is one of the biggest and can also be used instead of a moses basket its also dead easy to push and it can turn on a "six pence."

The main reason I bought it was because it can be parent facing when in push chair mode.

The down side they are very expensive - but the ebay resale value is excellent,I've kept all packaging and instructions safe for when I sell it .

I got mine from mothercare online and managed to save 10% so look out for discount codes.

i agree with ms piggy. i was also told a baby shouldn't be in a car seat any longer than 2 hours without being move. My HV an midwife both said it much better for baby to be laid out flat in a pram and bent over in a car seat , as it can damage their backs.

Some great suggestions. I have had several over the years and by far my favorite is my Mountain Buggy Urban. It is about the lightest you can get with a 3-wheeler and will hold up to 70 pounds. My 4 year old had some knee pains earlier this year and we popped him in and you couldn't even tell you were pushing a 40 pound kid. The steering is on the spot and you can actually push it with one finger. I love it. If folds up quite flat and even more so if you pop the wheels off. It is also very very light weight at only 10kg.

I use it for jogging and it is a breeze to push. After jogging, I do my shopping and the basket is huge on it so I load it up and it's still easy to push and stear. I have even taken it on the bus when fully loaded and fit perfectly. I'm actually looking at getting the double with the carry cot for our new baby.

I have had the Jane 3 wheeler and liked it too but can't even compare it to the Mountain Buggy. I bought my MB on ebay and saved a load of money.

Yes, the Mountain Buggy is excellent as well. We've got one of those as an "off roader" and we use the Zapp for around town.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Were we having anymore, I'd be seriously considering investing in the Stokke. I really love them, but not sure OH would let me purchase at that price :rotfl:

I'm a big mamas and papas fan. i love the luna, Pliko and the beat. all have their plus and minus( although not many and mainly only been the raincovers as my son hates them). tbh my next pram will prob be a pliko (pramette) when baby is small then will move up the the luna again as it i a dream to push and so lightweight. and i highly recommend these to all.

I agree, i have a M&P Pliko Pramette and also an M&P Pulse buggy, both brilliant prams imo. The pramette gave me the style of a real pram like i had with DD but without the weight and awkward folding, thats now put away for next baby and we now use the Pulse which can also be used from birth. I didn't want the Pulse at first, was dead set on a Maclaren like i had for DD but the pulse was £60 cheaper in the sale and couldn't justify the extra expense and i have to say its just as good as a maclaren.

The only thing i hate about the Pliko is the floating harness which can be a nightmare trying to get a wriggler strapped into!

My son is 2 1/2, and my Silvercross 3D is still going strong, although I must admit to having a small fold-up one too for the summer.

But you see - where everybody else seems to have 2 or 3 buggies over a babies/childs life, I will only have my Stokke. And when I am done with it someone will pay me to take it off my hands and go and enjoy it as much as I did. I don't know of any other buggy like it.

I have a couple of friends with Bugaboos and by 18 months they have swapped to 'something smaller' or 'more manageable' - I won't be doing that.

I did borrow a buggy from a lovely MSE buddy to take on holiday because I didn't want to risk it on a plane but have since decided that I don't care...I won't be going away without my Stokke again :D

Must admit that I drooled over the Stokke :o But I know that I get bored quickly, so can't justify spending £800 on a buggy . I am currently on my Herbie Ziko (which I love), but have a Maclaren Volo, Silver Cross 3d, Mothercare... Last night I bought a Petite Star Zia with custom covers. I'm a pram tart :D
