  • I bought a graco pram with car seat for £110 from babies r us and have to say that it was brilliant without being overpriced, it was easy to use and fold up.

Friend has a Quinny Buzz and loves it. We babysat their child for the weekend and I found the 3 wheeled buzz the most annoying bulking thing that was heavy and hard to manouver.

My 2 were in a maclaren - simple, lightweight and much smaller than the quinny Buzz. Very easy to steer as well - that maclaren went all over New Zealand with a 15 month old in - up glaciers, round volcanic geothermic parks, so imo the 3 wheeled all terrain tag is just another marketing ploy!

I would not describe the Quinny as 'all terrain' though. It's meant for short, flat walks to show off your Yummy-mummy lookit me I'm posh my buggy cost twice what yours did-ness. ;)

The difference between my cheap maclaren and cheap secondhand urban detour was astounding in terms of handling. Even though it had 3 year old twins in it versus my DD1 alone in her maclaren I still found it by far the easiest to push. It was a bit wide for buses though! The closest one they do now to my old 3 wheeler is the Out and about nipper 360, of which the double is slim enough to get on buses!

I have a quinny speedi , i love it ! It is quite big though and in my car i have to take off the front wheel (just pulls off) to fit in the boot , but it is sturdy , i have my 2 year old in it and my 4 year old can still sit on the end with 2 year olds legs on his lap lol ! One of the main reasons i liked it is that i am tall and the handlebar comes quite high up , i found with a lot of buggys i was stooped over. Agree with above comments though i imagine it would be a pain on a bus (have never tried). I am sticking with this pushchair for baby number 3 as you can do the whole car seat/carry cot thing , but would advise the seat reducer as little babies look a bit lost in it! but its definitely long lasting , my 4 year old can still fit in with plenty of room not like other buggys (not that he sits in it often but you get the idea)
for my 1st son i had a 4 wheeled mama & papa pilko , it was ok but prefer the quinny - but the pilko was given to us and was a few years old so newer versions could be betterbut i found it a little heavy.

I got the Maxi Cosi Mura and it is excellent and so easy to push, I can do it with one finger!

I've bought a stroller now so I've got it on eBay, will be sad to see it go but I'm selling it now while I can get something back for it.

I'm going for the maclaren xt as we don't have a lot of space and use public transport a lot. I did like the look of the buzz but decided I don't want something so big and bulky

Get the Quinny Zapp with a maxi-cosi car seat. Much better than the Buzz (we found the front wheel kept jamming) - and for newborns you can put the maxi-cosi on the Quinny frame.

It's not a good idea to have a newborn in a carseat for long periods of time though as it can damage their backs.

It doesnt damage their backs at all, the reason why we are told to keep car seats to a minimum is the position of the babies head can start to restrict airflow in the first few weeks, as the head flops the baby is scrunched up and this reduces lung space, this can even induce a apnoea episode or reduce oxygen saturation levels.

Not using a proper headhugger will allow the babies head to flop all over too.

Don't be so aggressive. I was told by both my midwife & health visitor that long periods in an upright carseat can damage the babys spine

    http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/safety/carseatsleepexpert/

Car seats in Britain are carefully designed to allow a baby to sleep comfortably with his head and back supported. Some of their main advantages are being able to transport your child safely by car, and being able to carry him in and out of the car and house undisturbed while he is asleep. However, being in a semi-upright position for long periods can place a strain on your baby's developing spine so it's a good idea not to use the seat for prolonged periods. Long journeys should ideally be broken up so that your baby can be taken out of his seat for breaks when awake.
