Gambler - i have to say i completely disagree surely finding the "perfect" job is near impossible for employed people never mind about being employed, you may see me as shallow minded but i really couldn't care less but i feel that if people are on benefits they should be making a good effort to find some sort of work that they are capable of.

Or do you see it as everyone else should pay to keep people who wont work for less than £35k a year??? I think your living in a dream world.

I agree that jobcentre staff could be more helpful, i too worked for the jobcentre on a 6 month fixed term contract (leading up to my maternity leave) and i have to say that the stress which you have to encounter is shocking i was in the call centre receiving calls from people making claims and although i cannot go into detail i HAD to pry into every single aspect of that persons life which more often than not was severely distressing for both the client and myself. I also have to say other than my original training i was not pulled out of my daily work for any meeting presentation or training course but if i were i would have been greatful for it just to get the chance to air some of my concerns that i had on a personal level within the position.

I only put perfect in "s to imply what would be the dream job - which realistically nobody can expect to get easily now, given the current climate thats all.

I wasn't trying to claim that i was over-worked at DWP or anything like that i was just trying to put across that everyone has had different experiences with working for them some good, some bad etc.
