Jim,
If you are looking at Virgin.net's broadband option 2, have you thought about taking up Virgin Mobiles sim-only offer of free Virgin Option 2 if you sign up for a 12 month sim-only mobile contract at £15p/month? You could save £3 p/month and get some mobile minutes and texts for free.
As for the wireless, I can't comment on the wireless options you have mentioned but I use a Netgear WAG354G and have had absolutely no problem at all with it.

Are you sure that virgin does not charge for 07744 calls?
I do not have any previous experience with virgin regarding the same. Your feedback will be really very helpful0 -

I went for the names.co.uk offer instead, superb deal at £60 + 4.99 p&p. It ends tonight though.

I can confirm that this is true as I've tried this myself.

I have decided to go with virgin.net £17.99 broadband can anybody tell me about the wireless kit £69.99 I think it’s a speed touch 585 I’ve had a belkin in the past without any problems so I was thinking about the belkin F5D8630 any advice would be grateful
Many thanks
The Virgin Wireless Kit is a SpeedTouch 780(WL) Router as far as I can tell. I've not been able to find many reviews on it, but I think it supercedes the Speedtouch 716g (of which there are several favourable reviews about)."...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -
Thanks monomer
I will have a look on the Internet and see if I can find any more info on it cheers0 -
Phone contract renewal time but rather than the usual shiny-handset hunt, I'm looking into overall cost for the year and possibly getting some 'free' broadband.
I've just seen on the virgin mobile website that you can get a sim-only contract with them for £15 per month for 200 mins & 500 texts which seems like a pretty decent deal and I was seriously considering going for that. I've also seen that they've got a 'free' broadband package which offers up to 8Gb/s with 6GB per month allowance. All this seems like a very good deal and I am very close to signing up but being a doubtful sort I was wondering if others could offer some advice on:
1 - Reliability of Virgin mobile. Is it just a t-mobile reseller? Is their customer service ok?
2 - Reliability of Virgin broadband. Are they prone to large unexplained down-times?
3 - Reading the t's and c's I'm not too sure if this is a redemption deal. Can anyone tell me if it's something you need to pay up front and claim back? A bit worried about one of the conditions which states Follow instructions received with your SIM Card to redeem the offer including providing the relevant Virgin Mobile account / validation details to the specified website within 3 months of signing up to the Pay Monthly SIM Only tariff.
Has anyone got this offer? It sounds a bit too good to be true, mobile phone & broadband for £15 a month.
I apologise if this is the wrong place to post but, if genuine, I'm hoping that more people in the same position as me could benefit.

It's a SIM only contract as you state in the top of the post, so I doubt that you get a free phone included as well as you state towards the end.
When going for a phone contract, it comes bundled with a phone that tends to be worth around £150-£300.
Whether its worth getting broadband as a replacement is debateable.

Nope, apologise if it was unclear but as I said in the post, it's a sim-only deal. Thanks to an incident with some jeans in a full-cycle of the machine, the new phone side of things is already covered elsewhere for me
I'm not too bothered about a new handset at the mo. I think the fact that this contract is around half the price of those which give you a 'free' phone makes up for the lack of hardware.
