not saying this is the OP as i don't know her but it seems to me that some people are quite needy with partners and sometimes can use their kids to extend that neediness - another guilt trip tactic to manipulate. suddenly it becomes not just 'you're not treating me right', but also 'you're not treating my kid right'.
