Gatso Roadside Cameras

^ I think the point was you can also contest it and get any penalty revoked?
Not sure, but I believed there was supposed to be a 10% margin of error, which could be used to argue your case??0 -
You CAN be done for 32 in a 30 limit, I know someone who did, yes i do believe him. He also had to pay extra insurance.. Please dont bother posting if your going to argue. It was in Worthing, Sussex.

Speed limits are just that... Limits. They are the maximum permisable speed on that particular stretch of road, NOT a target. There is another thread on the proposed revision to the drink drive laws. Would you suggest that we all drink enough alcohol to be constantly wavering just below the prosecution threshold?0

I was thinking do the Gatso Roadside Cameras store the images on film/digital within the camera so that an operator has to retrieve them or are the sent electonically to the HQ?

I know what they are, I asked why you posted it I.E how is it relevent?Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
It has a table which shows the guidance which officers follow when issuing penalties for speeding.
Presumably as this discussion is about speed cameras, those predetermined guideline limits (for penalties) will be automatically built in to the fixed speed cameras. (which almost agreed with what I said about the 10% margin for error, but it is even more lenient than that)
As for the manned speed cameras, that is down to the officers discretion of the current situation, taking into account the time of day, the area, the conditions etc. If you are over the speed limit by 1mph, but the officer has enough reason, ie your outside a school, at the end of the school day and it is snowing, you can still be punished for speeding.0 -

Thank younice to see someone on the ball!

Given the anecdotes given on here (and the fact that there is money to be made out of 'em), I'd doubt that.0
