Talk Talk (The Good!)

Options
Just to let everyone know my experience with talk talk. I ordered phone and internet etc on 15th July. Told I would be connected to telephone in two weeks. I was. Told I would be connected to internet by end of September, I was sent a letter saying I would be connected by end of August and I have been.

Everything so far so good, no problems whatsoever. I rang them about 10 days ago at approximately 0900 and got through straight away to someone who knew what they were talking about.

Bills are easy to understand, no charge for any phone calls I have made including abroad.

So far excellent!!

Happy customer.

    Happy customer.

You are very lucky. I signed up on 14th April. I was told my broadband go live date would be "May". Still not connected. Many phone calls to their customer services and technical support depatrments got a differrent story each time. In July I was assured I would be connected on 1st September. Guess what - still no progress. Further phone call today and I am informed that my order has been "rejected by BT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I was already on talk talk phone and aol bb. Applied for talktalk bb in April and I too am still waiting. I have been passed around from department to department no one knows whats happening and no one keeps you informed unless you contact them first. I am just thankful that I didn't cancel my aol subscription.

No problems with us joining either.

  • Order placed - August 03rd

Telephone line transfered - August 17th

    Broadband activated - August 30th.

Welcome packs for Telephone line and Broadband were about a week late, but that could be down to the postal service.

The actual "Talk 3 with Broadband" service has so far been as good as BT and Wanadoo used to provide me with, and I save around £10 a month, plus I have free daytime and evening calls to 01 and 02 Landline numbers.

TalkTalk Customer Service could have a better understanding of the english language, but I could say the same about some of the HSBC Customer Support Staff! Thats why I hope to use the on-line facilities for TalkTalk Billing, just as I use the on-line service for HSBC.

Would I recommend them - Yes, am I happy with what I have - Yes!

My parents have also made the switch, and as their Broadband provision is new to the line, where as mine was a migration they are still waiting, but they are still within the "before the end of September" forecast. Their telephone line went live on the date forecast without a hitch.

If your order was refused by BT you should Phone BT to check your line status. I had the same thing and BT were most helpful. As were TT. Problem sorted and went live 19th Sept, 12 days early but no modem yet. I already had a router so no problem for me.

I too would like to add that despite hiccups when loading the CD software (which TT said had a fault so we did it manually), I too am enjoying their service. I don't know if anyone else has this MINOR problem, but sometimes, I can't connect at the first attempt, so I close everything down, inc the power then after a one minute break, resume and all is well. I now leave the comp on all day when at home and suffer no ill effects.

  • was very wary of going for the TT broadband after what was posted about them on the web, but i already had their landline and couldn't be a*sed changing so took a deep breath and jumped right in...

ordered online on 16th August, it said i would get my welcome pack in one week and broadband would activate by end of september.

received welcome pack on 18th sept (so slightly longer than 1wk!:p ) and it gave my "go-live" date as 19th sept. still hadn't received my modem or installation CD so rang on 19th, on hold for 30mins but the call was free from TT land line so i just ate my tea while waiting.
foreign bloke eventually answered but was able to tell me pretty quickly that they were dispatched on the 18th, arrived this morning (20th), installation was wee buns, very straightforward and i've been on line for a few hrs now with no probs.

TBH i must agree that CS isn't up to much but as my little bruv is a computers wizz i'm planning on [STRIKE]exploiting him [/STRIKE] asking him nicely if i need any technical help!!:rotfl:

all in all pretty happy so far, think it helped that i was expecting it to be much worse, after all, if you never have high expectations you can never be disappointed :D
