I always use and recommend Kaspersky. It's always seen me right and everyone I've recommended it to as well.
You can question my expertise all you like, anti-virus is as good a talking point as windows vs osx. As Martin says, this is an open forum. You're entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine. I don't care if you think I know my stuff or not, what's important to me is helping others fix their computers, not scoring points off other people with subjectively "superior" knowledge.
Your beginning to sound like you've had two weeks training in the call centre / tele-sales arena.
Just slow down and think for a while, if you really believe that paid is better than free, you should slow down and think for a big slow while longer.
Try to fit in Brian, you could become a valuable MSE resource, even though your nym advertises your company and you partnered with Kaspersky Labs, the product you were pushing in this thread and Seagate the product you were espousing in another thread.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. Poor Marion, came on for advice and all she gets is techies arguing on her thread......
BTW, I am no expert and have asked for help re other issues, but none of them are Norton related, let me tell you this, I hear every day about how folks comps don't work who have free av............Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
As much as I hate norton, I can't believe anyone would recommend throwing a paid license of it away and replacing it with free AV. It may be a resource hog and incapable of uninstalling itself, but its still better than a free anti-virus.
Personally, ive found it to be lighter than your now very heavy Kaspersky
Id get back to the drawing board if I were you, youve lost out to the new lighter engines:idea:0 -

You need to get yourself some new acquaintances then! Preferably some that know what they're talking about! :rotfl:0 -
Sorry this has hijacked the thread a bit, but PC Pro liked the recent versions of Norton. there was also a Davey Winder article saying how much it had improved. www pcpro co uk reviews/software/251967/norton-360-version-3 I happen to use Avast / Prevx but from what I hear the recent Nortons have been ok, but Kasperky has been going backwards a bit.0
