Thanks Chev. I don't have a contract or anything! I think I'm what is called "grey market". Did check with DWP and it's 4 1/2 years I'm missing, I can make them up once I start making contributions:mad: Hence the urgency for a new and proper job.

    Housework nearly done.

  • Hiya, what kind of work are you looking for ?

Another spanner in the works.......I know that feeling well, just makes keeping on track all that harder. I just want to say OH S*D it and go and wastes some money. But that the problem isn't it, well its mine anyway.

What are your money plans for Christmas ? I really need to start thinking about this. Although I am expecting my PPI payment long before then. I want to do Christmas nice but cheap. Save as much as I can. i want to live more frugally all the time, not just for now or i will just end up back where i am now.

    :)

    Blue Jeans: Hi again.
I am looking for mainly support work or housekeeping, but what I'd really love is to do something creative - I love all things crafty. The other thing I'd love to do is become a professional de-clutterer.

Christmas, we'll be at home with my son coming for a few days. So it will be quiet but nice.

I am trying to make it as frugal as possible!

Last year we started buying bits everytime we did grocery shopping and that really helped spread the cost. We managed Christmas lasy year for £500 the only thing that didn't include was my presents fromOH.

I do a menu plan from the week before Christmas up until the 5th/7th January. Then do a complete store cupboard/freezer list, then a seperate Christmas food etc list. Then just tick it off as i go along.
It's a lot of work in the planning but its worked now for several years, some of which have been quite traumatic, so I say" don't fix what's not broken".

I'm hoping to make as much as possible also - apart from pounds of jam and chutney have started on 2 rag dolls now.
Yesterday made 3litres of Sloe Gin:beer:.

Spent today doing all the lists and plans, so this week got to start implementing them.

    More tommorow.

  • Hiya robsmum,

Wow you are so organized. I am a long way from that. I am making Christmas lunch this year, usually we go to mams. So I will need to do some organizing.

Frugal Chrismas.....yes that is what I am wanting to do. Frugal way of life fron now on :j.

My Mam, sister and myself are all crafty girls, all in different ways. Both myself and my sister are good at DIY too. Our Dad taught us ( tell you that story another time).

I make odd bits of jewelry, so I am making my sister necklace, bracelet and earing's to match for Christmas. I though of buying smaller present and adding a bracelet to all the female gifts. I have all the necessary bits, so would not need to buy anything to make them.

I am a support Assistant.....I work with Adults with Special Needs and my as and when work....which i call my flexi work, is with Home Support.

Sloe Gin......sound good to me. We have an allotment but do not use it to its full advantage. For the first time this year we had lots of grapes on the vine in the greenhouse, ate some and gave a lot away. Next year I will be making wine :rotfl:Do you drink your sloe gin........is it like gin gin .

    Hope you find work soon

    Catcha Later

I have joined Memory Girls Matirx 50 day challenge. My challenge is:
    1) To pay of as much as possible of catalogue (£133.00)
    2) To apply for as many suitable jobs as possible
    3) To believe in the power of the Universe
    4) To make time for me - weekly pamper sessions, make up on my day off.

    BlueJeans:
Sloe Gin changes from gin that you drink as gin to a lovely liquer/night cap or as we describe it "tixilix with attitude".
    Also more questions:
How many of you in your family?
What sort of heating do you have?
I'm thinking of ways to help you be frugal.:rotfl::rotfl:

Am mad at the moment! I paid money into the post office on Thursday to make sure it was in my bank for standing order which went out on Monday.
Just found out money wasn't in and so been charged £20, bank won't waver as same thing happened in March.

So not only did Post Office cost me £20 in bank charges - they caused the bank to swallow up the extra £7 that I was going to transfer into my buffer zone.:eek::eek:
When we have such a limited budget - why do we always get hammered, which ever way we try?

    Ands breathe......

Post Office response was on the lines of "pay it in earlier".

I bet your own central heating system is about as effective as mine. I'm 54!:p I bet you have to be able to stick your feet out of the bed as well.

Can't help you with gas heating, we have storage heaters ( real pain). Can come up with few suggestions for cutting down electricity useage though if your interested.

    Got all housework done.
Got very big curtains washed, dried and ironed - despite putting them on the line and line snapping. Only cream curtains:eek:

Got rag doll number 1's body made and stuffed.

Yes I have to put my feet out of the bed too :rotfl:along with tossing off the quilt and then pulling it back on because I'm cold !

OH your curtains, did you have to re wash ?

Well done on Rag Doll No1.....are they Christmas Presents ?
