This week seems to be a good one!:j
From my list this week I only have the ironing left to do and to finish off the Christmas countdown plan.

Garden Cull - is beginning to take shape and so far have only had to completely remove 1 shrub, so it's not yet been too painful. I've filled my garden wheelie bin and half filled my neighbours(good job we get on). The bad news is I am only half way down 1 side, so it could get more painful.

Christmas Countdown - got a rough draft done and am thinking about gifts. Want to do as many homemade/homegrown as I can, but struggling a bit there thinking about what for who.
Have 2 great young great nieces and decided I'd make them both rag dolls. I wanted to make them Holly Hobby style. Spent over 2 hours trying to find a suitable pattern on Google. When I remembered I'd got patterns stashed away. There on top was the doll pattern!

Money- having declared I didn't want to spend any money I have spent money on wine (greatly reduced in Tesco), the thinking was I'd have bought it at the weekend anyway, so it's saved me a bit.:rotfl:

Picked Greengages yesterday with BIL and now got jam to make.

Going to have an OS /domestic goddess day:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Last week was quite a good week, other than my declarati on to try not to spend any money- spent more than normal!

    This weeks plan:
    House:
    Deep clean the living room.
    General housework.
    Start on my Winter preparations.

    Cooking/Menu Plans:
Use more from freezer/cupboards. (Doing quite well on that)
Use dozen eggs(freebies):TPlan to make scotch eggs and quiche for freezer.
Make crab apple jelly (1st lot of apples from tree)

    Smoking:
Cut out 2 more ciggies a day. Have managed this since Sunday so far. If I stick to this that is 4 a day less - 28 a week less! That sounds more impressive.

    Money:
    Spend as little as possible.
Have decided to use Tesco vouchers for half of son's birthday present.
Use High Street vouchers to stock up at weekend on toiletries etc.
Check out local market at weekend for fabric remnants for Xmas presents.

    Garden:
Continue with cull if weather allows.

That's all for now I think.

I've managed to get back to my diary!:jI have been completely overwhelmed with requests for help and assistance(from family mostly) and everything has got neglected:mad:.I DIDN'T DO ANY HOUSEWORK LAST WEEK.

Having done my housework this morning I can now get back to my routine and trying to make progress.

    Need to do:
    Monthly paperwork
Update spending diary (as much as poss)
    2 week menu plan
    Job Application form

    Smoking:
Got to 20 a day - 5 less than at start:j. Next week going to try to cut 2 more a day out.

    Health:
Not too bad but have got very tired, so this week going to try and get some rest in and return to eating properly.

    House:
Much better for some attention today.

    Money:
A bit better this week as have done some baby sitting and will be doing BIL's cleaning this week.

    Garden:
Got the cull mostly done. Need to take cuttings from reduced price plants to have lots next year hopefully.
Need to weed veg plot at BIL's.

    Christmas Countdown:
Need to get started on proper plan:eek:

As an extra I have so far made: Damson jam and jelly, Cherry jam, Greengage jam, Crab apple jelly, Raspberry jam and Hot tomato chutney. I love this aspect of MSE all fruit/veg were free:j:j:j

  • Hello Robsmum

Glad you are back. You seem to be doing fantastic. Even cutting down on the smoking. (Something I need to do - one day)

I need to get out in my garden too. Before the weeds make it a total mess again. Also my veg garden needs some attention. Not enough hours in the day (or energy to achieve this at the moment).

After yesterdays quite productive day I thought yesterday afternoon that I'd have some rest time and try to bank some energy again. Had a last mooch on the DFW boards and discovered Memory Girls "Make do and Mend" thread - truely insperational and an hour later I had had some rest and got ideas also.

    Have got done:
    Spending diary
Planted up cuttings and taken some more.

    Todays action plan:
    Monthly paperwork
    Half of ironing
    Pay catalogue.
Read 10 mor pages of MG thread.

Nousk - hello again. Know what you mean about the energy!:rotfl::rotfl:

Made it back! I was so determined to finish "Memory Girls Make do and Mend" thread that my diary got neglected.

I have got some much insperation from there that I'm going to try to implement some of it.

Realize I need to have a buffer zone, at the moment my income level is such that each week I am right to the wire.
So action plan 1 is to try to work out how I can save to have a buffer.

15 minute housework bursts are a good way to go - I hadn'd realized how much could be done in this time.

Mealplans - definately the way forward.

Mind buzzing still at moment but do feel more positive.
