At last I am able to get back into the swing of things and can regularly update my diary again!
Have just looked back on my diary and am amazed at how things are beginning to progress.
House:
Now much more organized - 5 things a day seems to have become a habit and the house is better for it.
Job:
Still the same but have got an application in for Interior Landscape Assistant - a job I would love.
Finances:
Money still very tight but more under control. Have got catologue up too date and negotiated council tax and arrears.
My 1st challenge on this front is to get catalogue paid
off - this is my smallest debt.
Smoking - much the same at moment.
Garden: Needs a bit of attention - just not had enough time.
Health : Need to have some more rest am very tired and had headache on and off for days. I think this is stress related as Rob has been in hospital.
Think that's all for now.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Day off today!
Have almost restored house back to order after having son and heir here for a week. Am struggling to get it all done today, but will get there by the end of the day.
Need to do this week:
1) Monthly paperwork.
2) Monthly budget
3) 2 week meal plan.
4) Gardening - must get the garden a bit back to normal.
5) More ironing than I can imagine!
6) Pay catalogue
7) Pay CCCS.
8) Keep looking for job.
Baby steps does seem to help - last week everything seemed too much again but am getting back on track.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Hello Robsmum
As a fellow ME sufferer, currently recovering from a major relapse. I applaud you. I too have the mantra of babysteps. It is amazing what can be acheived with babysteps. It helps you feel in control even when you feel you are not.
Keep up with the babysteps, you are doing great.0 -
Hi RM,
I agreee, baby steps are the way to go. I am trying to cut down eating out to once a week, then in a month or so to twice a month rather than just saying I wont go out lol
Good luck and I have subscribed.

I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!0 -

Nousk: Thank you for your reply and welcome to my diary. You summed the lurgy up brilliantly! It's the out of control feeling that is so hard to cope with.
So far this week I've ticked off:
Restoring order to the house
Half done garden
Half done ironing (will hopefully finish it today)
Paid Catalogue.
Applied for a job!
So I guess that's half the list done, will see how much more I can do before the end of the week. Sometimes it just feels like I'm a hamster on a wheel!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Yes me too.
You are doing great.:j (this is my energy level in my dreams) :rotfl::rotfl:
I had a long to do list at the beginning of the week. I have done a lot, but some keep rolling to the next day. Still I feel like I have achieved something because a lot of jobs have been crossed off.
Have a great weekend Robsmum.0 -
Sorry for my abscence over the last few days but had my sister here for the weekend and did nothing but sit and natter!
Overall the last week hasn't been too bad.
The treadmill continues. I just think I have everything under control and another spanner gets thrown in.:mad::mad: The latest problems are:
1) I have found out that I have had no NI contributions paid for the last 4 1/2 years and am therefore not entitled to any contribution based benefits and also long term it will effect my state pension.
This is because my employer is trying to say I am self employed and it's my responsibility. I am clearly not self employed!
If I mention this to them it will be bye -bye job!
All this on a job I now hate!:mad::mad:
Have decided to apply for any job at the moment so I can get out of there as soon as possible.
2) Our Economy 7 hot water tank is boiling - they are coming today to look at it.
Nousk will understand the frustrations here - M.E. suffers don't cope very well with disruption to routine and uncertainty.
Never mind I know the worst now so can deal with it.

You are so right Robsmum, we do not cope very well with the unexpected. There is always something cropping up, to upset our balance.
For example this week after my relapse I now have shingles  but I am still dragging myself to work everyday.
Remember one thing, we always manage to get through the trials and I would like to think we are stronger for it.
Have a great weekend, lets hope the weather brightens up.:)0 -
Hi
Just seen your thread and wanted to send you some good wishes. I also have similar problems to you. I have a very well paid secure job which I dont particularly like, but I need the cash so have to stay put for now. I really struggle to keep on top of the house and garden too, I rarely get time to sit down but it never looks as neat and tidy as I would like. I often wonder how other people manage it. Oh and with the health problems, I have suffered from anxiety in the past, and I sometimes feel it creeping up on me again. I think setting yourself realistic goals is a great idea and gives you a boost. Keep going!0 -
Yorkshire Lass: Welcome to my diary and thank you for your good wishes.
I understand completley what your saying about the house. Ours is a small 2 bed housing association house, space and storage is at a premium. We've been here 17 years and have made use of every inch, altering the existing kitchen lay out and building fitted cupboards etc in otherwise wasted space. But unless everything is put away instantly it soon looks untidy!:mad::mad:
It is a constant battle to keep my dining table clear. I do it every day and I swear I have a gremlin that puts stuff on it as fast as I clear it!
This weeks plan is:
House - really deep clean the kitchen
General housework.
Job - keep checking Job Centre site
Smoking - Cut down this week by 2 ciggies a day (not much I know but that's 14 less a week. This advice was given to me by my GP an ex- puffer).
Garden - this is the difficult one. It really needs to have a good cull. I adore my garden and it gives me much needed therapy and exercise. But many of the overgrown plants were bought by my late Mum and I'm finding it hard to be ruthless. Since getting my greenhouse a few months ago I've learnt how to take cuttings, so I can at least keep some of the plants and almost start again with young plants; but it's painful to chop at these loved plants.
Money - try not to spend anything this week!
Christmas - devise my countdown to Christmas plan. Did this last year and it really helped spread the cost and the work load.
Finally, after 4 days we think we've got hot water again, fingers crossed.
Have a good Sunday and will catch up again during the week.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
