  • Hi, I'm completely confused and hoping someone can help. Next April my family of 5 is travelling to Orlando. However we are taking the ferry from the UK to Dublin, the flying from Dublin to Orlando and returning the same way (albeit staying in Ireland for 3 nights before getting a return ferry). In my mind it is a single trip, I leave home, travel to Ireland, the USA, fly back to Ireland and return to the UK. However after reading several policy small prints the flights are not covered as I'm not flying out of and returning to the UK. Has anyone else has this problem???????? Please can anyone help???
  • Fellow savers,
    Looking for cheap insurance

US trip for 4 days. Someone with high blood pressure.

    Cheers
  • Robbed in Paris end of July, reported to Nationwide Travel insurance, still not settled 16th November. Each time I phone a colleague was going to be in touch that day. I submitted a long list of required documents, which grows with each phone call. On visiting local branch to complain they were told a cheque will be in the post within 14 working days but for only £500 when claim is over £700. I don't know what has been rejected. I have £500,000 in savings with Nationwide which they will now lose. Poor service and customer relations.

Have you tried for any quotes online? That's the first step.
  • Hello,

Hoping for some advice, please! My wife and I are travelling to South Africa and Zimbabwe over Christmas for three weeks. We'd like to organise travel insurance for the trip but can't seem to, for the following reason:

We leave from London for the trip/holiday but (and here's the sticking point) at the end of the trip we aren't returning to the UK - we are going directly to Cape Town to start a year's contract. We can't seem to find a way to get a quote for travel insurance unless we are returning to the UK at the end of the trip - which we aren't!

Can anyone advise how best to handle this scenario?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Frank

You are presumably going to need health insurance when you get there - could that be started early?

But World Nomads offer the type of insurance you want - they don't insist you return to the UK

(I think they are the company Voyager 2002 intended to refer to)

Hi am having the family holiday of a lifetime in 2016. Have booked now in order to get a discount though had to leave a large non-refundable deposit. Is it possible to get insurance now ?( thinking of cancellation cover as it is so far ahead as well as the usual health accident etc cover for when we are away)

May well book a far less ambitious holiday abroad in 2014 and /or 2013 but suppose its not a good idea to have some massive 3 year policy. Not sure what to do - anybody been in a similar position or have any advice? Any insurers recommended?

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll contact Global Nomads now!
