Is Direct Travel still available on moneysupermarket.com? I'm looking for an annual Europe policy for a couple and can't find it.

Can someone please give me a tip as to how to find it?

I'm always up for saving money but the problem with insurance is you only know how good what you've bought actually is when things go wrong. I'm prepared to pay a bit more for a company that generally has good feedback.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have booked a family holiday for August this year. Haven't booked any insurance yet. Should I be taking out cover ASAP, ie Is there any protection in a typical annual family europe policy for something going wrong before August or is it OK to leave it until nearer the time?

    Thanks.

Best to take out the cover now. It won't cost any less nearer the time, and by delaying you'd be missing out on the cancellation cover between now and then if anyone became ill or met one of the other cancellation conditions.

Thanks Doc but I'm not looking for a link to Direct Travel's own site.

The article clearly says the Direct Travel policy is available via comparison Moneysupermarket and that you pay more direct.

Anyone had any luck in buying it from there?

I'm a surprised to apparently see a doubling in the premium being charged for insurance compared to checking about a month ago. It looks like they've revamped their interface a little too to have some more things optional but I don't think I'm being daft and not comparing like with like. Anyone else? Suggestions on a 2nd best?

So oddly someone complaining at direct travel not being quoted on moneysupermarket had me search via there and they did show up provided I excluded winter sports cover. Much cheaper (the cover seems better than the standard product for somewhat less money).

I have arranged cover for my father who is 80 on an annual basis through StaySure.. I did the Comprehensive option. I am looking to arrange cover for my mother who has a new PMC and they are similar in cost to the others I have tried.

Also they are going with Thomson who use Mondial and the single trip cover was not badly priced

Will be interesting to see what you come up with, my mohter feels the EHIC is enough but I am not so sure.
