  • Can I just ask, should we have received any kind of a confirmation ok thank you for applying e-mail when we signed up at all? just i filled everything out and got a confirmation on the web page, but haven't received anything to mail (if we were supposed to)
  • any news yet any one had one delivered or know thay are getting one??????:wall:
  • You'd think by now if anyone here had got one they'd have posted about it. I hope this was for real and not just a sly data harvesting ploy, I find it rather interesting that a good few have reported being asked to change power suppliers on the back of applying for this offer.
  • wasnt it supposed to be september when we heard?
  • Thought it was August when we heard and September when some were fitted at the latest.

The September fitting for the first applicances was before they extended the deadline - I would imagine that's more likely to be October now unknown.gif

    Hi

I have been lucky enough to succesfully apply for the initial part of this trial. I applied earlier on in the year, and was accepted around Feb I think.

We have had the Fridge/Freezer about a month now, but it has just been hooked up to the internet this last weekend. Initially I think there was supposed to be 3,000 fridge freezers installed, but I believe the phase I was included in eventually was for 1,000.

We were very lucky to receive an Indesit PBAA 34 NF D, which retails for anywhere between £434 and £494. I call it my cryogenic capsule, it is enormous. The doors of this model have very rounded capsule like doors. Its height is 210cm and its width 60cm with a depth of 65cm, but it is the rounded thick doors that can cause a problem if you dont have enough room around it. We had to have the doors altered to open to the left. That said it is a fantastic piece of equipment with a computerised like panel on the front of the fridge doors which has of all things a holiday mode! and a bottle freezing facility and childlock!! The best bit is the alarm if you leave the door open, something I have often done in the past and woken up to a defrosted freezer.

The engineer came this weekend to hook it up to the internet, which took minutes to our surprise. We were expecting drilling for cabling etc. He simply plugged a wireless monitering device into the back of the machine, which comunicated with a device plugged into our router in another room.

That was it, we also get to keep the wireless device at the back of the freezer which can be used to operate other devices wirelessly I believe. Our trial lasts untill the end of March 2011.

A brilliant scheme, we have had hand me down fridge freezers before and never a state of the art piece of equipment like this. Our broadband connection is never turned off, it has not affected our browsing speed, we are contributing to energy efficiency, so everyone's a winner:T:T I entered this phase through a previous post on MSE so good luck all:j:j:j

Here you have peoples, seem that someone has been lucky and the scheme was genuine! :T:T
Look to me that for a lot of peoples it is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about them ;)
:) Do thanks me if you find my post useful to you :)

    Not understanding...
  • I remember that post. Some... "one" being the operative word. I'd be pleased to see a good dozen of our fellow users get picked and post, as per normal with offers like these and considering how many applied. You could argue that one is better than none I suppose. I'm still a bit sceptical to just how genuine this scheme actually appears to be. Anyway best of luck to everyone, I hope to see another one posted soon. :)

Consdiering the scheme was meant to be for MSE'rs only, I should expect to see more than a dozen or has that been changed now?
