We've blagged 900 super-efficient A++ totally free fridge freezers worth about £400 from nPower for MoneySavers (you needn't be an nPower customer or switch to it though).

I emailed the company (Rltec) yesterday, and got this response:

Thank you for your enquiry about our Dynamic Demand Trail. We will now be going through a rigorous selection process to ensure we have a robust sample of trial participants that is representative of the UK population. We will be notifying all applicants whether they have been successful or not once the selection process is complete, and expect this to be in late September or early October. The fridge installations will not be for at least few months after this. If you have any further questions please let me know.


So it looks like another month's wait to find out whether you've been accepted yet.

Hope I am successful as it will give me the incentive to tile the utility room floor. Thinking about it, that means work! I hope I'm not sucessful.

So far 1 (nPower) user in 900 is pretty bad going, considering they claimed they'd blagged 900 just for us and we didn't need to be nPower customers. I'd like to see an official winners list published of all 900 MoneySavers and their corresponding power supplier as proof.

I do think that Npower will chose some people who are with other suppliers. After all its for their advantage too. They monitor the fridges so will tell how much the competitor's supply is doing and what its doing to the fridges.

October is a long wait........Im impatient . My fridge freezer is on its last legs but just in case I cannot buy a new one as sods law Ill be offered a trial. And sods law that Ill see a good deal and wont take it because Ill be waiting for the trial fridge........arrrrrrrrrggggghhhh

LOL There's only one 240v electrickery supply, it's not like petrol company recipes where there's differences in combustion quality. nPower will gain no difference in data from nPower users or non in the same locality. The only data they may acquire is power quality and that'll be the exact same for the same users no matter of supplier on the same local grid. Same goes for your gas supply, one pipe, one gas, just different company bills LOLOL. Sorry just have to laugh about this.
