I have been told that this offer is only open to people on certain benefits - is this true or is it worth me still keeping an eye on it even though I work?

    Morning Mrs 55,

I get the impression they ask about benefits, but it is not a precluder - Npower will need demographic data when it reports on the study.

I'd keep an eye on the forum and the newsletter and apply regardless!

It has been stated in the weekly email that they accept people from all walks of life, with or without benefits. They ask you simply because they want to make sure they have a broad selection of the population.
  • May I please point out, after contacting Npower , Indesit and RLtec (the firm handling the instalation, signal processing etc.) there is a risk, because Power Line Transmission is used by the broadband modem attached to the 'fridges, that the digital radiations from your house wiring will affect medical electronics and radio communications in your area, the modem sends 300 bytes every 15 minutes which presents a risk to any person with a ICD (implanted defibrillator) - a 'heart pacemaker' living in your home or near so please make sure before having one of these fitted you are not risking someones health, whilst the pulses are only every 15 minutes they are quite strong. It's regretable PLT has been allowed by Ofcom and others without any field tests having been made. RP.

This is CLEARLY pointed out in the information when you sign up so I am unclear as to the reason for re-posting, and also in red?

I am starting to think if this is a real offer.

Surely it does not take this long to upgrade the servers. Thank god I am not an Npower customer.

Lol- they aren't doing great for publicity are they?!

They'd have been better off taking the first batch of customers and doing one give away then starting a second give away at a later date, at least then it would have looked a bit more organised;) Guess they didn't realise how popular MSE is!
