floss2 I am due for an interim payment, but it is taking forever, my solicitor is having a terrible time getting copies of my sick notes from my employer, they are being so slow - that's the NHS for you x

Hello there, hugs to all in need. I have a confession... I've got hardly any friends either. Real-life friends that is, I've met lots of people online on forums, some of whom I have gone on to see in person, some not yet, and one who became my boyfriend XD. Whatever some people might say, there is nothing wrong with having internet friends, and they are just as valid as other sorts of friends! I also don't actually mind, I like my own company and always say I'd rather have only a few friends who I know are real friends, than loads of friends who I don't really know that well and aren't that close to.

Now, I've had a very amazing holiday, but am back to w*rk tomorrow, and need to get back to the moneysaving with a vengeance because festivals are in no way MSE!

Another one here with no friends; once Mr LW leaves for work in the morning, I don't see or speak to a living soul til he gets home.

I haven't even posted on the Daily for ages, as I didn't have anything of interest to contribute.

However..... I got an email today asking if I'll have another canine to stay in August; so the diary is now:
23rd July to 8th Aug (morning): Molly
8th August (afternoon) to 17th Aug: Penny
    20th Aug to23rd Aug: Pip & Pandora.

Hooray..... an excuse to get the mobility buggy out!!:T:T

I have lost the majority of my friends since I became ill and lost my job. I have a close friend in Germany but she is very lax at keeping in touch. I met Mooloo through MSE and i have a another friend called Oystercatcher who i met on another forum. I now see Mooloo most weeks and we have developed a very good friendship. I guess we were lucky that we lived locally. So internet friendship is not to be scoffed at in my opinion. I count you as my friends - I read all your news every single day xx

I wanna be someone's Facebook friends too, so am going to stalk you all now via Candygirl's friends list mwahhahaha!

Just to update on my back too, as I know you are all riveted to hear it:D I was in agony all day and will be telling them tomorrow if my payments don't get sorted pretty soon for taxis I won't be going to work as the driving is killing me!

No grass cut, or any other OS as I've been on my couch most of the afternoon reading a book.

    Evening everyone

Not managed to get on since last week, but have tried to read every day. Went down south to meet oh with ds2 on friday as he was moving into our new house near Epping, I only move in after the wedding & honeymoon. The wedding is on 16th July, exactly a month tomorrow:eek:, thought I had more time. He had done all his own packing, but struggled to find everything as he had not done a very good job of labeling his boxes and which room he wanted them in, a man thing I think:rotfl:.

Anyway we spent most of the weekend unpacking his boxes(he doesn't yet realise how much I will be bringing later:o. This weekend in the village we have bought the house in, there was a festival on so took ds2 there both days. He visited the school on monday to have a look round and in 2 weeks time will be spending a morning there. It seems to be a very visual school with lots of hands on activities rather than lots of writing and reading which will be better for him. The school will take him on the proviso that county council will honour the statemented hours for a TA.

Not much os today, been at work all day and feel so tired tonight. Had omlettes for tea. Need to make my lunch for tomorrow. Will Put wm on and hang out in the morning.

Bitsy - I have 3 good friends but we only manage to see each other now we don't work together about once a month. I will see even less of them in a few weeks as I will be moving to Essex which is over 200 miles away from where I am now. I am scared about making new friends and know that I will have to try very hard to establish friendships, my aim is to start doing a bit of volunteering when I move so that I meet some people and not be stuck indoors. If you live anywhere near Epping I would happily meet up once I move in early August.

NPM - Hope Noah is back now and he has enjoyed his cakes. My ds2 Had teeth out a couple of months ago under GA. He had to stay off school the day after as well, but that was all and that was only because he had a GA. He is 10. He is petrified of needles and won't let anyone near him with any dental tools or needles so this was our last option

Taplady - Hope your ds manages to complete his coursework. It is great that he seems brighter today and not as worried.

JC - Thinking of you and your family.
Diva - Hope you are ok.

Sorry if I have missed anyone off. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.

    Evening all

:j:j I got offered a place on the Post 16 Teaching course (PGCE) :j:j However I need to persuade work to let me have few hours off every term time Weds, and find the £3K to fund it over 2 years!! So it's not a definate yet. But finger's crossed. My parents have offered to loan me the money which is lovely of them :D

I popped to my parents after work to collect my post, I have won a hair dye :D. I also gained some bananas, beansprouts and cereal bars from my parents! I then went to M&S to get some nice stuff for tea. I got few reduced items and am sitting here having a tapas like meal.

I had a good day at work, new team working very well already. We spent the afternoon doing problem solving games in the sunshine and then playing rounders!

((((bitsy)))) - try not to let it get you down. I think we all go through phases in life where you can feel a bit lonely and friendless. But we here are all your friends! In relation to the work friends thing, I used to work for a very large govt agency and had may friends there, however now I work for a charity and there are only 10 of us. I have only kept in touch with 4 people from my old job, 2 of which are some of my best friends. I think work 'friends' generally are only classed as friends becauase you spend so much time with them and have a common bond, but once that bond (work) is broken then you drift apart IYKWIM

Butterfly Brain - I love the link you put, steam punk looks amazing!

NPM - yey Noah is almost home! Time has flown.

Taplady - mmmmmm.....cheese and potato pie, now I know what I'm having for tea tomorrow :rotfl:
