    Morning all

Bitsy - Don't ever think you're pathetic, we all have bad days, and times when we need friends and support, big hugs to you.

Windy and sunny here. Had a very enjoyable weekend, batteries recharged quite nicely. The boys very tired but had a wonderful time with my bro, SIL, nan and grandad, their surprise was a helicopter ride which they loved. We enjoyed our lazy dinner Friday night, a Dine for 2 dinner which was lovely but couldn't manage the dessert so kept that and ate that after bbq on Sat night. We had a commual bbq Sat night and we had just finished eating when the footie started and the guys had organised a tv outside so then we were able to watch the game. Went to a charity fashion show last night managed to pick up some new tops, had a very pleasant evening. DS2 is covered in a nasty looking rash so have to take him to the Drs this morning and phoned my boss last night to say I won't be in at work today - am hoping they can give me a diagnosis but think it may be "viral infection"! So a day at home with him for me, will crack on with washing, drying and ironing also may get to do some cooking as didn't do any last week.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Thanks for the advice ivyleaf but unfortunately I received a letter from DWP a while ago saying that becasue I was involved in an accident and am making a claim I am not allowed to claim any benefits :(

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that :( - but i used to work for DWP and I do seem to recall that if someone is awarded compensation they are then liable to repay any benefits they have received in the meantime  so I suppose it's swings and roundabouts - trouble is of course, that doesn't help you with your bills in the meantime :(

    (((hugs))) Bitsy - you've got lots of friends here x x x

I've rung the college re DS2 - tutor not available so have put it all down in an email for now - needed to get it off my chest as I'm just so worried about him. Feeling a bit tearful myself to be honest.

I've just welled up reading all your messages - shall we sob away together :o

Thanks everyone - I try not to be needy but I think NPM is right I am feeling it because my mum is going away for a week and I am left on my own. It sort of brings it home how people I'd worked with for a long time (one I've worked with for 15 years) I thought we had more in common but clearly out of sight IS out of mind.
The 3 good friends I have we do try and meet up as often as possible (but it can be hard when everyone works different days) and without them I'd have no friends IRL at all. The school mum's aren't much better - the mums of girls are really chatty with the mums of other girls, presumably because the girls like to go round to play etc. Hope it gets better the more we see each other.

You guys are fabulous and you are all one of the reasons why I like to post on here everyday, so I can catch up with your news and see what you're all up to. It can hardly be down to the OS as most of the time that's on short supply :o

NPM - there is a support group and they meet every few months but I confess each meeting has co-incided with something I am doing. I will go and check out the next meeting in a sec and make sure I attend.

Reverbe - Sorry to hear you haven't got any friends. Hmmm not sure what else to suggest you can meet people.

Taplady - hugs to you re your DS's - sorry DS1 is splitting up with his partner and DS2 and college xx

    Good Morning everyone,

I managed to read everyone's posts this morning as I am not due for my next dizzy making drug until around 11am!
Hugs to everyone for their support and hugs to everyone anyway!

Butterfly Brain - I am a crafter and have heard of the term steam punk recently, but what is it?

I joined the debt free wannabe board today as being on half-pay is really starting to increase my credit card debt.
The insurance company have granted me a housekeeper for 4 hours a week as I can't do anything at all housewise (my boyfriend even has to help me wash) so I am looking forward to my house looking better soon. Haven't met the housekeeper yet (apparently they are not a cleaner as they are allowed to tidy up as well ... who knew!) might ring the agency later.

    Toodle pip xxxxxxx

    This is steam punk

Jellybaby, have you asked your insurers whether you can be granted an interim payment while you have gone onto half pay?
Been in tears this morning. Feel fed up and sad. Sorry I feel a fraud for feeling like this when so many of you have bigger issues but can't help it.

:grouphug: Bitsy - I have been in your situation, and I know how hard it is to get out and force people to be your friends, although I didn't really help by moving away from everyone to move in with OH :o

How about trying a Knit & Natter, or a book group at your local library? They may have a noticeboard for clubs & groups that has something to catch your interest, although I understand that it isn't easy going into a room where you know no-one.

Or have you thought about an adult education class? Maybe a short course in something like conversational french, or pottery?

    Morning.
Been in tears this morning. Feel fed up and sad. Sorry I feel a fraud for feeling like this when so many of you have bigger issues but can't help it.
I am lonely. The good friends I have I can count on less than one hand. I contacted old work friends over a month ago to arrange a catch up and not one of them has bothered to come back to me with a date. Bear in mind the 3 of them see each other every day - it's only me that doesn't see them. Feel hurt and p!ssed off. I mean with FB it's not as if I expect lengthy phone calls but a message every now and again would be nice.
You guys are the only other people I "speak" to each day - does that make me pathetic?
My mum is the one person I see or speak to every day (apart from my H) and she's going away on hols for a week. The local CM group is really cliquey and they already have their little friends. I can't believe how sad and lonely I feel. Sorry to vent on here - got no where else to say it and I don't want to tell my mum as she'll be worried.

Anyway OS - tea tonight will be left over chicken from the one I roasted yesterday. Might make some biscuits this afternoon if I get chance although given that DD is on the cusp of dropping her nap that might prove impossible

NPM - Glad Noah's back home today. Let us know he's got there safe eh? xx

Diva - hope you're OK xx

Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.

    Hi Bitsy Beans :hello:

We haven't really spoken before, but you seemed sad, so I thought I would send you a :grouphug: I live far away from friends and family (although I have hubby who is brill) and I know what it's like to feel lonely and (for me) homesick, but you are not alone here!
