Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Tues 15th June. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning my darlings :D

We are very late starting today, where is N9eav and all the other early risers.

Lovely day here, got a towel wash in the wm, will get it out in a while, should dry nicely today.

Planted up my hanging tomatoes yesterday, they look good, but they don't hang yet, I also moved my redcurrant and blackcurrant bushes, as I think they were too close together.

I then took mum and day for lunch to the place where dd is doing her work exp, mum and I had fish and chips, and dad had quiche and new potatoes and salad, it was very nice, and it was good to see dd getting along so well with the clients, I also bought three more hostas :o but they did give me staff discount due to dd working there :T.

I also noticed that they pick fresh veg to order, they had, asparagus, broad beans, beetroot, chard, rhubarb and several others, you put your order in, and within 10 mins its back in the shop :T, going to order some friday for the weekend.

Dinner tonight will be hm burgers, wedges and salad, need to get the mince from the freezer.

I also need to hoover through down stairs, and mop the floors. This afternoon I am going up to my mums to cut her front hedge, neither of them can manage it now, and their neighbour has cut his half of it and it makes theirs look scruffy:( so I will go and get theirs done.

NPM :T:T:j:j:T:T he's home tonight, please pop on and let us know he is back ok xx

Have good days all xx

Morning Ruby and all who follow - lovely bright sun shine this morning - fantastic blue sky too. Had Ofsted turn up at Playgroup yesterday but we passed with flying colours, so today I'm doing all the jobs I should have done yesterday!! Plus OH has a sudden days holiday so I'll be led astray probably out shopping with him. As long as the grass gets cut and we're back intime to pick the boys up from school I'm not all that bothered. Should be a good day. Love to all xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

    Good Morning! :D

Gorgeous day up here, too! I have put all of badCoco's washing in the machine and she's only allowed one cover today! Don't kow if I told you lot yesterday, she's grounded as she ate two of my letters yesterday. Well, she shredded then. Naghty girl, so her name is now BadCoco! She has hit teenagedon with a bang! I will need to go get a door basket after work today. LOL

Don't know how much OS will be done, but I am definitely going to cut my grass when I get home, and I bought some Euonymous (spelling is probably awful!) to fill in a few spaces out the front and some lovely red bark chips, so I'd like to tackle that lot, today. Will take a double dose of painkillers first, though :D

I aslo need to bake some bread, I am having withdrawal symptoms.

Hugs to all. NPM have a lovely time when Noah gets home, just don't forget to enjoy your wee bit time alone beforehand though!

Good Morning! managed to get through loads yesterday, so same system planned for today - 15 minutes on a variety of tasks, plus the odd 15 minutes computer time! Need to finish sorting through the old chest freezer - a friend has cleared 3.5 shelves in her freezer for me so I can then defrost old freezer which delivery chaps will then take away for me. Still waiting to hear from the plumber about putting my new machine in the garage. Needs doing before the kithchen fitters arrive on 28th. Want to do some sewing this afternoon so had better get a move on. Where is everyone today?? Very strange! ((HUGS)) to all who need one. Take care and have a good day.

    morning all!

didn't get time to post yesterday - DS2 had the lappy most of the evening to do college work. :(He's still giving us major headaches and he was up most of last night again, not sure what to do for the best - he's got lots of work to do and is stressing about it but he's only got a few weels till the course is over so it would be a shame to give up now.

Also DS1 has split up with his partner again and says he is moving back home tomorrow. He seems to be ok and I'll be pleased to see a bit more of him for a while.

OS - am making some cheese and potato pies later, need to seriously cut my grocery bill for a bit as I've been slipping a lot lately and our finances cant really cope with that so its back to meal planning etc for me.
WM nearly finished so will hang that out as its lovely here today.
Have cleaned through - vaccumed and mopped floors.
Might go and meet Mum for a coffee later at the W.I:)

(((hugs))) to those who need them

redruby - great to hear your DD is enjoying her work experience:T

NPM - bet you're really excited to have Noah back again!:)

    take care all x

tired Mum - good luck at the hospital, hope you get some answers re DS xx

    Morning Everyone
Sorry I have been MIA for the last couple of days but I have been really busy helping with the Lower school fete, baking and making and just have not had much time - It all went brilliantly so it was worth it.

JackieG....... Bad Coco .... maybe you need to get her something to chew on paper isn't good for her :p:rotfl:

NPM ......... The week really has gone quickly hasn't it.......I hope Noah gets home safe and sound and most importantly I hope he enjoyed himself x

Catching up with the housework today because I have got so behind :o Oh well as I always say when I am gone the housework will still be there :p

Going to a craft workshop tomorrow with DD and learning how to do steam punk - really looking forward to it.

Thursday I am out with my best friend - don't know where but we always have a laugh whatever we do - she is chaos and I am mayhem teehee :rotfl:

Friday is shopping day, so today really is the only full day that I can spend on housework :)

I hope all of you are keeping well
    Have good days

Diva - I really hope you are ok ((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))

    Good Morning everyone,

I managed to read everyone's posts this morning as I am not due for my next dizzy making drug until around 11am!
Hugs to everyone for their support and hugs to everyone anyway!

Butterfly Brain - I am a crafter and have heard of the term steam punk recently, but what is it?

I joined the debt free wannabe board today as being on half-pay is really starting to increase my credit card debt.
The insurance company have granted me a housekeeper for 4 hours a week as I can't do anything at all housewise (my boyfriend even has to help me wash) so I am looking forward to my house looking better soon. Haven't met the housekeeper yet (apparently they are not a cleaner as they are allowed to tidy up as well ... who knew!) might ring the agency later.

    Toodle pip xxxxxxx
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!

    Good morning!

Very quiet on here again this morning! We miss MSD, that's what it is Come back soon honey xx

Hope appointment goes ok tired mum

Only a few more hours NPM :)

Butterfly Brain - whatever is steam punk? Sounds as if it ought to be some sort of music but perhaps not if you're doing it at a craft workshop :p

Flutterby - Hope you find a course you will like!

taplady - (((HUGS)) to you. Your DS2 sounds a bit like my DGS - he had a panic attack during his second RE exam the other day :( Fortunately it was in the afternoon and he'd already got his English exam out of the way in the morning.

jackieg - Well done on the weight loss :j

beemuzed - Glad DS seems so much better, such a worry for you xx

redruby - Glad your DD is getting on well! i remember DGS and his class had a lot of trouble last year finding work experience as nobody wanted them due to insurance costs :( In the end DGS did his in the Music dept at his school but got a bad bout of tonsillitis at the wrong time so only did a few days of it anyway!

jellybaby - Sorry you are still so poorly :( I remember when I went onto half pay I became eligible to claim Incapacity Benefit. Have you asked whether you are now eligible to claim ESA? Every little helps as they say.

We took little DGS (3yo) for new shoes yesterday. He tried the first pair on, ran around the shop in them a couple of times, came back and announced excitedly, "They work!" :rotfl: They were a good fit so he didn't try any others on :p DD2 was a bit :o as he'd gone up 3 half-sizes in 3 months, but kids' feet just do that sometimes!

I left a newspaper parcel of scraps on the worktop in the evening to be put outside in the compostable waste bin this morning. Came back a little later to find a mouse had been at it  so it was straight into the bin with it then after all. Blooming mice, can't seem to get rid of them :( We are loath to use poison as we hear them under the floor when we are in bed and don't want them dying where we can't get at the corpses! We will probably get some new cats when we get back from our holiday next month.

DS's car has been written off and the money he will get for it will pay back the rest of the money a friend lent him to buy the car in the first place, and enable him to buy one with a smaller engine and cheaper insurance :)

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible xxx
