You gotta go with red shoes:D

Well.... believe it or not I do not usually wear shoes. I have trainers, uggs, boots and my birkies. No shoes. I do not usually go anywhere to justify buying them. Now I've got to start on the shoes. I only have size 2 feet, it is so hard to buy shoes so I guess it means a trip into town.
Maybe I can get some red sparkly lelli kellys, LOL0 -

They are very quirky! If you are confident enough to wear those they will look FAB with that dress! Wish I had the guts to wear shoes like that!0

I would go for a medium heel, high ones will kill you if you're not used to them.0 -
That dress is lovely, and not too black! :rotfl: at those shoes! Let us know what you get ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Well, I have limited fashion sense, but I still wouldn't wear black to a wedding. But that last dress you've found is more pink than black, so that's fine! I like that one! Mind you I liked the first one too.
I just feel that if you're too black, everyone will think you're trying to say something about your opinion of the marriage. Or at least some people will. OK, if either of my sisters had turned up to my wedding in black, I'd have been pretty peed off with them. A black jacket over something else, fine, but not a dress that's more black than anything else.
If it's just me, then it's just me! :rotfl:
I think it depends on the person. I have a goth friend who almost always wears black to weddings because she feels most comfortable in black. She'll jazz it up with accessories which brighten it up a bit but I think the bride and groom always expect her to be wearing something a bit different to the rest of their guests anyway
The last dress she wore to one was a 1950s style polka dot dress in black with white spots and she looked lovely in it, although I do agree a bright shrug and bright shoes go great with a black dress and will make it less funeral looking!
Yes to the DM heels I say. I have a pair and they are so comfy it's ridiculous. Best shoes I ever bought and go with everything.0 -
To be honest I think the days of not wearing black to a wedding are long gone now. If you accessorize a black dress well it can look equally as good as wearing a coloured one. Red accessories work extremely well with a black and white polka dot dress and I agree that if you team black with a bright colour and it totally lifts it
To the OP – Scene Dead are one of my favourite sellers on Ebay. I think I am watching about four dresses from their shop atm as I have a couple of weddings coming up and am trying to decide whether to wear a VOH or buy something new.
Also you say about ordering a 14 or 16 because of your bust but remember to bear in mind some of the dresses are elasticated all the way round the bodice area so if you go up a size it may end up being too large on you all over.
Just noticed you’ve brought a dress – that one is also on my watch list!
seems we have the same taste! I would be tempted to team that with black shoes as sometimes matching reds can be quite difficult and then possibly a black flower in the hair as it will stand out better against your auburn hair. I would definitely go for a red petticoat with that dress – it will look fab as you are walking along glimpsing out from underneath the dress.
I would definitely not mix polka dots with cherries though! One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
