Would you wear this dress to a wedding?

I REALLY, really love this dress: http://www.rockabillypinup.co.uk/blue-dixie-pinup-ladies-1950s-rockabilly-swing-dress-p-320.html
But would you wear it to a wedding. I would like a petticoat to go underneath it but I reallylove the swing style dresses. We do not really go out and it is my sister wedding, do you think it would look out of place?
I've got quite a big chest and a size 12 waist but did not want too much cleavage showing - after having kids I've got stretch marks. I thought this might not be much use: http://www.rockabillypinup.co.uk/polkadot-halter-neck-dress-hell-bunny-p-299.html

My hair is red - do you think I'd get away with wearing this: http://www.rockabillypinup.co.uk/satin-polkadot-vera-rock-roll-swing-halter-dress-p-271.html
I do not have anyone to ask these things, can anyone help please.

Its not my sort of dress, but I think its very suitable for a wedding if it is your sort of thing.
Its a pretty dress.
The first one is my fav.
ETA I like the polka dot one (thats my sort of dress) but its very backless isn't it.0 -
Thanks MrsE, I have my eye on these: http://www.dollydagger.co.uk/products.asp?cat=26 however, I cannot justify spending £70+ on a dress and then a petticoat and facsinator too - the petticoats cost a fortune too. I've always admired this style and have decided to go for something in this style though.
What would you wear on top of it, the wedding is late afternoon and it might be chilly in the evening.
I cannot get away without wearing a bra at all so I thought the first style would be best as I could wear my usual bra with that.
So many lovely dresses to choose from. I've been looking on eBay but even 2nd hand they are selling for more than they are on that website. Madness.
These are gorgeous too: http://www.vivienofholloway.com/Womens-Clothing.html
And if I ever renew my vows I'll be choosing one of these: http://www.vivienofholloway.com/Luxury-Dress.html
Sigh. I wish I had somewhere more important to go than Butlins this holiday. Do you think I'll get away with wearing that there?? LOL.0 -
Yeah, I like the first one, it's quite quirky

Thanks for the responses. I love the first one and also the purple satin one http://www.rockabillypinup.co.uk/vera-purple-satin-polkadot-rockabilly-swing-halter-dress-p-270.html
I think the purple one might be a better choice because the black band would hide my midriff because I've got a big chest it would make me look slimmer.
However, I think I might buy the 1st one to wear without the petticoat. The satin one is not very 'school run' which is as far as I go, but I can see myself wearing the first one. I love those mini top hat fascinators too. I've never worn anything like this and am worried I might look a bit of an idiot, LOL.0 -
I hope so because I was planning on wearing something similar to my future brother in laws wedding.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

I like both the first and the last one. They are very pretty and quirky, but you may steal the show with the first one as it's so unusal:)0

I must be a bit square.............. i much prefer the polka dot ones as more in keeping for a wedding,....however prefer the straps on the other dress.
You say you have no-one to ask.........could you not ask your sister her opinion ?
Have you come across any other sites that have the polka dot type with the normal strapping ? there is one on that same site with tiny polka dots but perhaps looks a bit too black for a wedding0 -

First one, absolutely fine for a wedding, and also for Butlins, one night, IMO. Do they do a 50s night at all?Signature removed for peace of mind0
