I love the first one, I want it! I don't have anywhere to wear it but I am still tempted to buy it...

I think they are all beautiful and especially love the black with white spots halter one. I think I would put a pashmina with it to cover up a little of my back in church.

I personally think the first one is too much for a wedding (it might take the attention from the bride!) even though it is a lovely fun dress.
  • Hell yes to all the dresses! They are all gorgeous! I love the mini top hat fascinators, v 50's/burlesque! If you get one of those dresses you have to do full 50's glam with gorgeous eyebrows, black eyeliner and sexy red lips!!

I wish I could get those dresses in my size! :-( I'm a 14 bottom half but a damn 18 on top! No matter how much weight I lose my boobs never get any smaller! Am truly gutted as those dresses are amazing!

So I vote yes for a wedding! With a confident smile, you'll look amazing!

I've been up to my eyes in it today but I have made a descision to get the purple and the 1st one and see how they look. My friends through it hysterical I was interested in these dresses and that I would wear dress number 1 to the school run. The have never seen me in a skirt or dress and this is why, but they said they ould not wear it day to day. Well, I'll be proving them wrong on that one then!!

In regards to you saying about your sizing, I have a size 10/12 bottom and size 16 top (30/32G) so I am going for the 14 and will see how it fits. I'll probably order tomorrow and will let you know when they have arrived. Remember, these dresses are MADE for us curvy ladies so give it a try!!

If anyone could recommend a fascinator to go with dress 1 I'd be most interested. Oh, and I decided to wear the dress without the petticoat for the wedding then put the petticoat on for the evening 'do'. Maybe. ;)

On a public forum, it would be impossible to find 100% of all people liking the same style of dresses and also agreeing on what THEY would consider appropriate wedding wear, and only because you've asked and for no other reason, all I would say is it wouldn't be MY thing (but then thank goodness for that, else everyone would be wearing the same dress!!!)

By best advice would be if you feel comfortable in it once you've tried it on, then go for it!

I love this style of dress as you would instantly be able to tell by the seven Vivien of Holloway dresses in my wardrobe :D

Personally I think the satin ones can have a tedency for the material to look a little too shiny and cheap. Out of the four you have posted I definitely prefer the first one, followed closely by the black and white polka dot one.

As for accessories I usually wear a short wrap style cardigan or bolero with my VOHs. You say you have a black one which would be fine with any of the dresses you have posted.

I'm not sure I would go for a fascinator with the first dress. The dress itself has a lot of detail and a fascinator may try to compete with it. I would possibly go for a flower in the hair by the ear in either black, pale blue or white as it would break up the red of your hair as well and tie in with the outfit.

Go for it! These style of dresses are perfect for curvy girls (I'm a size 18 atm) whenever I wear any of my VOH I always get compliments from people on them. They are a dream to wear and once you've worn it once you'll be wanting to wear it all the time.

I think the first one is absolutely gorgeous :D

I think you should not worry too much about what is 'appropriate' to wear for a wedding and wear what you want to wear and feel comfortable in.

Who cares what anyone else thinks, as long as you feel good, that is really all that matters!

I also don't agree with the comments about not upstaging the bride, that is the brides problem not your's. No one should ever dress for someone else, even if it is their wedding!

I hope that you really love one of these dresses when you get them as you deserve to feel good at this wedding.

The website has no phone number.

I see we have a new poster on here so going to go with a hunch.... Julissa, if this is your site (the owner is called Julia) then please can you add a number to your site as I want to know what size petticoat goes with the length of dress and I was going to call before ordering.

I have to be honest, I never, ever order from anywhere where there is no phone contact number on the site as I prefer to have someone to talk to if there is a problem rather than sit waiting for an email response.

Not sure what to do now but at least I know what I am looking for.

ETA: I've seem some nice dresses on eBay but they state they can only be returned if they are faulty which is no good with me being so busty. Does anyone know if any shops on the high street have the swing dresses in - maybe TK Maxx? Petticoats I can get later. Going to have a look in our local Goth shop over the weekend I think!!

I liked most of them. In my experience of looking for dresses for occasions for both myself and my daughter, i think you have to think 'outside the box' and try some things you wouldn't normally try. I say this because my daughter went to a prom and had a specific dress and colour in mind and the shop assistant said to try something she wouldn't normally go for. She did this and created a fantastic look-in a totally different colour and style. It was the same for a wedding she went to recently. Also some of the dresses she looked at she didn't like on the hanger but when she tried them on they looked gorgeous.

I would say anything other than the first dress is more suitable for a wedding (all are lovely though!)

I have the red/black polka dress and its quite silky material, its really nice but probably much nicer on your size 12 figure than on mine at the moment ;)
