Tesco misprice policy discussion area part 8

It seems from the above that Tesco are selectively using their CCTV footage when it works in their favour - how about a Data Protection Act request for all footage showing YOU - it may also happen to show the shelf edge label still in place! It should also show the treatment you received at the hands of the store manager, which Customer Services might like you highlight to them!
Anyway, I had my own query...
Elderly relative picked up 3 lasagnes, £1.64 each flashed "3 for £4" on packs - paid bill then once outside store relasised she had been charges 3x£1.64 - went back in, queued up again, then left standing for AGES while staff debated, consulted etc (she's in her 80s and with a stick, not offered a chair) then thye gave her £1.17 and no aplogy
Was she entitled to refund of 3x£1.64? It wa sone of their small stores (Express? Local or something) - does that make a difference?0 -
Asdaprice...treatment of the elderly in that manner absolutely infuriates me  Customer Service my !!!!...
yes, she should have got a full refund (and got to keep the products).0 -

Almost the same thing happened to me with a PSP earlier this year.
It's underhand tactics and you don't have a leg to stand on - in my case the SEL was removed after I paid but before I reported the mis-price (it's a long story....)
Always, always accompany CS staff when inspecting SELs.
You've learnt a lesson - the hard way - but fair play to you for actually going out and having a go.
Next time you'll score

Poor lady - my sympathies.
Yes she was overcharged - 'more than on the shelf or product' - full R&R should be applied.
Makes no difference as to the size of the store.
Metro/Express stores usually do not have the big blue 'Our Promise' signs - but they do have the smaller A4 signs next to tills and at the entrance that has the 'If things Don't Add Up' paragraph.
Good luck,

Out of interest does the R&R policy apply in Tesco Calais?
Has anyone ever tried it? And succeeded? I'd imagine it would be a bit harder due to the language difference.
Or in Tescos in other countries?0 -
If they have the if things dont add up bit on the our promis sign then give it ago nothing to loose. but the language barrier could be the stumbling block

I'm off there in a few weeks hence the question.0 -
New X-Box GOTW c0ck up.
Just got back from 2 stores in my area. The GOTW poster says Test Drive unlimited but the picture of the game on the poster is of a different game ‘Dead Rising’
Also the SEL says ‘Dead UNrising’
Neither store had any in stock of Dead Rising probs coz it was only released today
It’s worth a shot coz it won’t be just the price that ‘won’t add up’ LOL0 -
Friday Night With The Dude.........
.........Everything You Wanted to Know About Scanning But Were Afraid To Ask........
What Is the Scanner? It's a handy price checking device - you scan the barcode of a product and it shows you the price the product will scan at.
Where Is the Scanner? This link will give a list of scanner locations for many stores.
Still Can't Find the Scanner Dude? Most Tesco stores have at least one scanner - Extra stores often have two - popular locations include clothing, pharamcy and pet food aisles.
Remember that the scanners require power (duh!) so check the walls and pillars as this is the easiest way for an engineer to run a power cable to the beasty.
If you can't find it quick! - ask a member of staff - to avoid asking any CS staff on walkabout try one of the staff doing a tesco.com shop or a shelf stacker.
What Can I Scan? Everything Dude! A can of baked beans - an xbox- even a Dyson - just find the barcode on the item and lug it over to the scanner!
Won't I look suspicious? Probably not - it's easy to feel paranoid when you are price checking - but to be honest staff are busy doing their jobs! The only problem could be if you scan something under the nose of a CS member of staff - just 'check your six' before you scan and don't look too guilty. Don't worry about CCTV - these are looking for shoplifters not R&Rs!
Scanner is Broken? The collective wisdom of this forum is that there is no Tesco conspiracy to break scanners - they will eventually get repaired - it's just not a top priority for Tesco stores - feel free to report a broken scanner to CS staff or Head Office.
Scanner Says No? I think you mean Scanner Says 'Contact a member of staff' - this is not unusual - scan the item a number of times in quick succcesion and you will usually get a price.
Appreciate this is probably old news for veterans - hope this is of use to some of you newbie R&R Dudes!
Just remember to post your finds on the Misprice Thread!
