What about tesco taking MY photograph without express permission (from cctv)?

And if they claim it's because they have signs up declaring they do, with the DPA info etc, then how is that different from me wearing a badge (no matter how obscured by clothing) proclaiming that I will be recording?

Obviously the I/MY in this post doesn't actually relate to me, I hate cameras and wouldn't own one but you get my drift..

provided they display clear warnings about CCTV recordings that are easily visible then tescos can do pretty much what they like on their own private property

I like cameras, I work with a major manufacturer in the CCTV / security industry :D

.......because it's private land, TESCO have every right to request / ban video recording equipment......it's not 'illegal' per se, but if its against TESCO policy they can rightly escort you off the property
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

its not the first scanner that I have heard no-longer works....

Two local tescos and 2 whilst visitting out of town over the last week and in all of them the in-store scanners were for some mysterious reason broken! Ah, but what joy for the expansion of self-scan tills. Means the check-out staff cant check for stickers (they've been told too!)

I've never used those tills before, is it easy to cancel an item once you've scanned it?

    please say which tesco store
    when you spot a misprice
i keep making my husband mad as i get him to drive to the tesco in our area
i have a list of mipriced items from this site
when i check them out they are the correct price

THANKYOU to all the people who do name store it helps alot

I think most people don't want to identify the actual store for fear of being spotted by Tesco employees. I would suggest collating a list of the stuff posted on here, then looking around your local store for the items listed.

no. All cancels require a senior member of staff to be called.

I have once seen an item I dont want at a self scan and just walked away and used another till, but probbaly not the best thing to do!

I would agree that naming a store is not very helpful in two ways:

    1) It may harm your defence! In that staff may spot you, or peopel on the forum may know where you live - personal privacy issues.
    2) Mostly after an R+R'r gets an item the SEL in that store will be removed so the R+R will then only be good in OTHER stores.

Most of the scanners are only broken to non-Tesco staff. I believe there is a 4-digit code that can be punched in and hey presto, working!
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

I've never found any of the misprices listed on here - I took a list of the last 15 posted..every store must be different I guess?
  • I went looking for misprices today but sadly none despite having made a list of the misprices on here. Did buy some reduced minced beef and after checking all the meat was correctly priced was surprised to have a meat counter employee run after me and tell me that other packs of mince beef were reduced to a lower price than the pack I had bought !!! surprised to get a member of staff advising me of an overcharge !! although it was a price ticket reduction and not a SEL difference.

Anyway, picked up 4 ragu's on BOGOF - got home and discovered there was 8 in my shopping and I had only paid for 4 on my receipt !! I phoned the store to let them know and they said drop them in when I am next passing
