I genuinely would be very interested in the 2 'prosecutions' that the Tesco employee suggested had happened recently. I'm sorry but I just can't see them being carried through to court. Quite ridiculous, surely?

PS I have never wombled (I never even use my clubcard when R&R'ing, either) so not a worry to me either way...
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

    Managed to get an xbox:j

Bit of a long story but after being over charged yesterday the manager was trying to say that they only double the amount you've been over charged by ie. you pick up a dvd player for £200 but get charged £250 and they'll give you a £100 refund. I told her in a polite way she was talking rubbish so she called HO. I don't know what she said to them but they agreed with her, I think possibly the word 'xbox' had something to do with that! I told them just to give me a refund and take the whole lot back.

I called HO yesterday when I got home and got some numpty who didn't even know the policy either and said there was a department set up to deal with xbox enquiries as there have been so many of them. He said they are only open 9-5:30 and to ring back today. I thought he was fobbing me off but I cleary wasn't going to get anywhere with him anyway!

So... I called HO this morning and asked to speak to someone in the department dealing with xboxes, got a very helpful lady who didn't have a clue what I was going on about (so i was right in my suspicions!), she agreed with me that i should have had an R&R and called the manager at the store to sort it out. It was a different manager she spoke to who said that i picked up the wrong game, because their poster says 'Saints Row'. Only yesterday it didn't say Saints Row, it said Prey - and it was an IN DATE poster. There was no issue with the game yesterday, I even went with a CS lady to the poster and she had agreed I picked up the right game.

So anyway todays manager said based on her posters and me picking up the wrong game I wouldn't be getting the xbox. I asked her to check with other people that were there yesterday (getting worried at this point that they were all going to stick with the story that ther current poster was the same poster as yesterday) and a few hours later I got a call from HO to say i could go and collect the xbox! :j

Well done R&C...it just shows perseverance pays off, and it doesn't sound like you had a slanging match to achieve it.

Congratulations.....now if only I could muster up the courage to give it a go....

I know its not a great money saver but cooked ham which was stickered as 2 for 2.50 did not scan the discount, apparently the offer was terminated early but the tills haven't been updated so I got a refund! As they say everry little helps

Don't worry about how small these R&Rs are. As you say every little helps. Most of us start out on small items - chocolate, crisps etc......MOST take time to work up to the lap-tops, cameras and Xboxes, and some of us NEVER get that high at all ;)

Well done R&C... all the more reason why we should take photos of the SEL and poster before we buy it. Next time I'm even going to hold a copy of the same day's newspaper next to the SEL/poster to prove 100% that it's not an old photo. You can't be too careful when there's so much money at stake.

I was determined not to lose my rag at any point, knowing full well that it wouldn't achieve anything other than making things more difficult! :D

You should give it a go, you never know you might be lucky!

Seeing as there are so many new people getting in to R+R another tip to increase the chance of winning in any battle is not to be greedy when it comes to high value stuff like cameras picking up 2 cameras would normally be a strange thing to do in anyones book so just go for 1. in expensive mobiles arnt to bad but again dont go picking up 2 moto L6's in 1 go even Mcdonag only picks up 1 of them if you want a 2nd one try your luck at another store.
Items like packs of steak can be bought in multiples no problem as they would normally be bought that way and not look suspicious buying 2 or more packs. just be carefull as some stores have a bulk buy policy of 6 of an item normally they dont bother when your buying the stuff but they dont really like refunding it and giving it you free.

Ohh and those taking photos it isnt a good idea either Tesco get really !!!!!! off at people taking photos in their stores. you need to get permision before taking any photos on any private property. the other thing about having photos of the SEL and poster is that it shows you have some knowledge that things are going to go wrong why else would you take the photos?
  • Hi

I am all new to this and have had a brief look through the previous threads but cant find what I am after. I was wondering (and call me stupid, if you like) when you go to cs for a r&r and you have several items do you ask for a refund for all these items at the same time or do you do it seperately. Sorry if this seems a daft question but I thought I should get all my facts before I try for a r&r.

    Many thanks in advance

You could have been buying birthday presents for twins? Not very likely, I agree, but not something we need to justify to Tesco.
