Tesco have some nerve banning people from 'wombling' (collecting rerceipts from other people and getting the points added to your clubcard).......................................................................................................................................Saw a letter today in the paper from a manufacturers' group representative saying (in essence) that Tesco etc are out of order by redeeming any vouchers even if the person doesn't buy the product ie in effect tesco do 'wombling' themselves on manufacturers by accepting discount/money off vouchers without the customer purchasing the applicable goods ........................................................................................................................................Hypocritical is the word that springs to mind!!!!!!!!!

I find it very surprising that the manufacturers who issue the coupons don't get together and take Tesco and Asda to task on this. Both supermarkets are very open about the fact they will accept a coupon even if you aren't buying the product (as long as they do sell it). Now that clearly goes against the T&C's printed on the back of said coupon.

The trouble, I guess, is proof. Even though they didn't sell the product in that transaction, they probably shifted hundreds anyway in that week so can offset it. The manufacturer can't prove which vouchers were redeemed correctly and which weren't.

That said, I still think the manufacturers could do something about it, if they worked together. After all Tesco and Asda openly admit to doing so.

erm..........................Iquon PC package, SEL 449.99, scan 459.99.......3 hours in the store asking for a 'straight answer' why they won't allow me to keep the product and refund as it says on the poster..................dunno how many calls they made to HO, but the CS people were lovely, the store manager was a little grumpy, but my friendly demeanour paid off and the manager even offered me a free coffee once HO had sorted things out........woo, 2 free laptops and a computer now!! ;-)
