As soon as I walk up I am told 'you deliberrately do this, you're not getting a refund' And when I ask to speak to a manager the first thing that is said to them by the customer service person is 'Shes always here doing this deliberately'. I have remained calm and said I do not like the insinuation, but I have been called a b1tch as I've left the store twice now by this member of staff.
If your mobile phone has a record mode, use it..
Playback whats been said to the mangler, if you feel you have been offended, and wait for the red faced appology.
Certain if I was called a !!!!! by staff, i'd have somethng to say about it.

Thank you for this constructive feedback MORPH3US... NOT !!!!
& to those of you who's wish is to ridicule...
After 20+ years of working in law, my advice is offered to those respectable people who wish to make things work in their favour... legally... if you choose to continue with underhanded tactics, and ruin things for the rest of us moneysavers, .. then I have no pity for you in getting banned from stores.... perhaps that in itself speaks volumes !!...
I too have an opinion... & will express it ... just as many of you have... difference is that mine will keep people out of trouble !

itscheapandiwantit wrote:Hi folks, just bought an xbox 360 premium pack and game of the week from local tesco. Chart games poster says save £20 when you buy game of the week and xbox 360 premium pack. Charged £279.97 for xbox and £39.96 for game. Total £319.93 - no £20 discount !
All customer services offered was the game on r&r , explained i'd bought a package deal and wanted it all refunded. They refused even after i mentioned trading standards etc. Phoned head office and they said i should only be offered £20 refund because a "discount" that is not applied is not an "overcharge". Couldn't get them to understand that i should have been charged £299.93 and therefore had been overcharged by £20
Left the store with the goods and no refund as i don't want to accept £20
What am i best to do ?
Any advice please?
A lot of people here will tell you to not to bother and not kill the golden goose, not ruin it for the rest of us etc, etc.
I have contacted https://www.consumerdirect.org.uk and they have been very helpful and have now referred my case to Trading Standards. So lets see what happens.0 -
Danlaur.
If i may ask, is it illegal to record conversation on mobile without the consent of the other person ?Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
Yes, it is. Or at least the other person has to KNOW about it, which is the same thing.
In the states only one party has to know the conversation is being recorded, IE yourself.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

I believe it's illegal to record without permission or take photographs without permission. Danlaur - please correct me if I'm wrong.0

COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote:thanks mcdonag for that.... so now we know if a security guard have not got their SIA licence/badge..that they have no right to question....man-handle..threat.... etc...
another question.. please.. so hope you can answere this one as well macdonag....
has the badge../licence... got to be displayed when they are talking.. cautioning....threatening etc... in other words if you are approached by them on an official matter.. has the badge got to be displayed.. or seen by yourself... like a name badge type thing... in view to see......
The badge must be on display on their person at all times. An example of what the badge looks like is here:
http://www.the-sia.org.uk/home/licensing/security_guarding/wizard/wizard_main_sg.htm
I don't know exactly what your rights are if the badge is not on display but it is more ammo for you if confronted.

I'm a door supervisor who has similar rules regarding wearing my badge in full view. However the risk to my family and my own health and safety take higher precidence than the rule to always show my badge. With the idiots we deal with day in day out and the online registers e.g. www.b4usearch.com making my address and more importantly the address of my family so readily available I would understand if store detectives don't wear their badge on full view due to the information it has on it. I would hope that the badge not being in show would not be very useful a tool against them although we are dealing with the law and not common sense. In the spirit of gloating... you what... I can't gloat on this site anymore? Awww, how unfair.0

If people do continue then how would it ruin things for the rest of the moneysavers? Are you saying only use the R&R policy if you buy things that are unknowingly overpriced when you purchase them?
Lastly you did not answer my point about the illegality of Tesco continuing to knowingly overprice itemsOnly time will tell if I am right or they are wrong0
