SMG I dont hhink it is refered to refund and retain either, taken from post 1"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product"
I always ask about the "if thing dont add up" bit on the price promise board but only after they agree to the price mistake and try to give the refund. I leave it up to them to provide a solution to me noticing I wasnt charged the correct price and It has served me very well in the past. alot of the time they have been offering a full refund without even saying anything and they explain the policy to me so I say thanks and say somthing along the lines of it will be even better now its free and smile.
If they dont want to go for the refund then they require a little persuasion and the misprice explained untill they cave in, be polite and smille it goes along way.0 -

I would never mention anything about refunding and retaining...
When they offer me the difference, I usually say "well that would be fine but I've just noticed that sign that says 'if things dont add up'...". Never failed so far but then I dont seem to get many R+R's anymore.
My local Tescos seem to have a policy to only have the price once eg. if there is a pack price sticker then there's no SEL and visa versa0 -

They always only offer me the difference and then go very red in the face when I point out that I have read the sign - I feel quite sorry for them becuase I'm sure that the policy to offer the difference 1st comes from higher authority and it makes the CS assistant look dishonest!0 -
SMG wrote:Has anyone come across individual stores limiting the number of items you can R&R? I ask because I noticed two signs behind the CS desk on Friday. The first said that store policy on bulk purchases was 12 items. The second was an addition to the sign displaying the R&R policy and said that the store refund/overcharge policy on bulk purchases was a maximum of 1 item
Tesco do try and impose a limit on bulk purchases and R&R sometimes, however if their limit is 6 and they sell you 12 at the till then they have broken their own bulk purchase rule. Simply point this out to them and they will have to agree
12 of one item may sound a lot but if you are buying treats for the goody bags at a kids party then believe me it is not
hope this helpsOnly time will tell if I am right or they are wrong0 -
I know this has probably been answered somewhere in the many threads, but when do the prices get updated on the stores check-outs??...............................................is it on the stroke of midnight or 8:00am or when??....................................................................had a look on threads but too much fluff there!!!!0

Redfox- the first post on this thread gets longer each time you start a new one!
Just want to say I (and I'm sure many others too) appreciate your hard work and time given to "board guiding" in this and the other misprice thread.
Thank you.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Today I bought 2 packs of fruit pastels (the multipack with 4 tubes in). The offer voucher on the isle clearly buy 2 for £1.80. I was charged £1.08 each so went to cs desk and asked them to check. cs rep came back and said that the offer had ended but because of the confusion she would refund me the difference so I'd get them for £1.80. Surely I should have got them for nothing? If you look at the small print on the 2 for £1.80 price sticker on the isle, it does have a date printed on it but the point is that most people will a) not look at that date, b) not know what that date means. So loads of customers are piling these into their baskets only realising they have not got the advertised deal when they get home.
Should I have been given both products free? I never intentionally abuse the R&R policy so I'm not known to them.
It's a bit off when Tesco do not adhere to their own policy on a small purchase like mine (only bought 2 packs)
Anyway, what's my position so I can argue my case (protest mildly, glow red and walk off really embarrassed, vowing never to shop at Tesco again) if this happens again?
Thanks
