haymishpupkin2 wrote:Today I bought 2 packs of fruit pastels (the multipack with 4 tubes in). The offer voucher on the isle clearly buy 2 for £1.80. I was charged £1.08 each so went to cs desk and asked them to check. cs rep came back and said that the offer had ended but because of the confusion she would refund me the difference so I'd get them for £1.80. Surely I should have got them for nothing? If you look at the small print on the 2 for £1.80 price sticker on the isle, it does have a date printed on it but the point is that most people will a) not look at that date, b) not know what that date means. So loads of customers are piling these into their baskets only realising they have not got the advertised deal when they get home.
Should I have been given both products free? I never intentionally abuse the R&R policy so I'm not known to them.
It's a bit off when Tesco do not adhere to their own policy on a small purchase like mine (only bought 2 packs)
Anyway, what's my position so I can argue my case (protest mildly, glow red and walk off really embarrassed, vowing never to shop at Tesco again) if this happens again?
Thanks
Pete
Yes, you should have got both products free.
Give Head office a ring and explain to them and they should refund you. Their phone number is on the first post of this thread.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Left my receipt with them so I guess I'm !!!!!!ed. I'm not really the type to shout and make a fuss. Do they usually cave if you mention that you should get the products free? I'm not one of those lucky people who are happy to cause a scene.
Not suprised at their underhand tactics, their marketing policy really take the !!!!!! out of the punters and their prices are hilariously high.0 -
Am I right in thinking that If they scan at less than the shelf, price you can get an R&R??????0

No, its more than the shelf price0 -
I got the Chunky Aero's today in the Irvine store and took them to CS, after checking she said I was right etc and handed me the 36p difference as I had paid £2.16 instead of £1.80 for two packs.
It's not often I get an R&R in that shop so take pleasure when I do, when I told the CS girl she had to give me a full refund she started getting agitated and claimed not to be sure of such a policy so I told her there was a large sign mentioning it. She then said she could remember the policy now and that it changed around 6 months ago and said sign was now gone. Her only problem was that the sign is about 4 foot tall and was perched on the wall about 5 feet behind her.Just blatant lies and she looked like she wanted to go and hide in a big hole by this time.
I await the day when I get a big R&R from the Irvine store, it'll give me great pleasure in seeing their faces.0 -

No!! Companies can charge whatever they like for goods, they can even undercut the recommended retail price to entice us, its the consumers decision whethegr to buy it or not.
R&R only applies if the price you are charged at the til is higher than the price advertised on the product or shelf label.0 -

If they still have the posters up, then go for it. They've had an email from HO telling them to get the POS down. Fair game if they've left them up, if you ask me.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Lots havent got a refund. I have complained to customer services and not heard back
I wouldnt try it if I were you. Up to you though.
I am going to write a letter (as opposed to previous e-mail) of complaint now.
I suggest people keep the board updated of what HO has said to them about this R+R and how their complaint has turned out, otherwise not to discuss the issue any more as its been going on for some time.0
