I'm searching ebay for a time machine. A spell of Victorian times might benefit some people ;)

I don't think many of societies poor felt the benefits of Victorian England;)
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

You can bet that they appreciated what they did have though ;)

That Black Death was quite helpful too ;)

I haven't seen anything from the OP to suggested she doesn't appreciate what she has.

Hmm, not convinced anyone appreciated TB, cholera or smallpox.

That Black Death was quite helpful too ;)
Your time machine needs to go back a bit further then

On the plus side, we could do with another Tolpuddle Martyrs;)

She doesn't appreciate the parents that are getting deeper and deeper into debt every month for her!

I'm sure she does. Her actions, in trying to alleviate this strain by moving out, would certainly suggest so.

I cannot work, not from choice but I suffer from several problems including severe anxiety and agrophobia which means I cannot leave the house. .

If you cannot leave the house, and don't pay much (if any) of your benefits to your parents, what do you spend it on?
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

There are a number of ways this is possible.

Far easier to just give her parents some money though!

How will she move if she can't leave the house?
